Another day, another cool Rich Forne/Mutiny edit. This time featuring Mat Roe taking one in the ribs (And simultaneously one for the team) at the Works. Cool vid!



Another week, another cool Tuesdays With Miles edit. Pretty much chock full of riders I like watching ride: I approve. Fastplant to fastplant? Yeeeeah.

Almost a week off? Er... yeah... about that...

Whilst I didn't really do much in the space of a week apart from ride quite a lot and watch rugby matches in freezing stadiums in Cardiff, Rich Forne managed to show how the productive people of the world do things by going to Israel and managing to get a billion clips despite both riders taking themselves out of the equation mid-way through the trip. Skills. A different take on things to most BMX videos which is cool to see.

Keeping it more local (Although knowing Bow, probably about as dangerous as being in Israel), Tim Lewis is now hooked up good 'n' proper and has this video to celebrate that fact. I knew Tim pretty well from the 3 years of riding around London we shared together, but getting to hit up London again recently to say hi again was a treat. Rad dude, and no video will ever really give you the full Tim experience.



Tim's style always sort of reminded me of Brad Simms, and as if to just give me the evidence to try and prove that, The Set put up this video of him a day or two ago. Simply ridiculous. Going uuuup...



Lastly, Cinema put this up today. Awesome team, soon to have some good product flowing out the door too if rumours are to be believed? Anyways, here she blows.

Changes.

In full holiday mode now, woke up about an hour ago. Body clock like whaaaat...

Anyway - as I mentioned a week or two ago (when I also mentioned that I was going to do an Anthem 2 review (which I still intend to do, but need to watch it again before I can (and it's currently at my house in Blackpool (and I'm currently in Wales)))) Sean Burns is pretty out of hand. It still seems weird to talk about a Sean Burns web-edit, but I guess if you want to ride for a living your sponsors who don't really 'get' it are going to have some demands you'll have to live up to. Anyway, here's another Osiris edit. Ridiculous.



If you in any way like that video, you should definitely give the shop a call and grab yourself a copy of Anthem 2. So much good stuff in there, and his section's like the icing on an amazing tasty, diverse cake. I know that 'diverse cake' doesn't exactly sound like a good or appetizing thing, but it is.

Because months ago this was an exclusive, I don't know if this embed code's going to lead to anything once I hit the 'publish' button. Hopefully it will, but if there's not a triumph of hope over experience then you'll need to head over to United's website to check out the TCU x TIU edit they've just re-uploaded. They've been putting up some visual treats over the holidays anyway, so it may be worth you while clicking that link and having a lurk even if this embedding shenanigans works...



Speaking of cool bike companies re-uploading good videos, Mutiny have done exactly the same which allows you to go check out LGM, the Dunkerque videos, and all their other rad edits from this year. Essentially, the point I'm trying to make is that the weather sucks, it's the 28th December, you probably don't have much to do so you might as well stoke up some weather-directed anger at not being able to ride by watching some inspiring videos.

This comes with the new issue of Ride UK (which is worth buying), and being a fan of 'zine-type stuff I'm obviously a fan of this. It's just good, and it's also free. If I was Nigel Sylvester I'd probably end that with "You feel me?" or something, but I can pull that off even less than I can pull off asking for a 'barm cake' now I live up North. So I won't.

Troubled.

A constantly detereorating home net connection has made watching web videos a fairly punishing experience lately, with a lot of waiting for often little reward (when videos allegedly load all the way after aaaaaages, but only play the first 10secs...). Fortunately, some that have made it worthwhile are coming up:

This is a video for Mutiny. I don't know if they've ever made a bad web video, and this isn't changing that. Some reet good riding liiiike.



Whilst I found loading videos a punishing experience, I'd imagine it wasn't anywhere near as punishing as being part of Tate Roskelley's bike is for his front tyre.



Tate's new Volume Drifter frame is out now, giving me a little more hope that BMX is rewarding the right people.

Another front tyre punisher is Karl Poynter, who's section from Into The Void is now up online. I don't know if that made sense grammatically, and Premiere's making me want to punch walls out at the moment so we're going to have to roll with it.



My new favourite rider American Butlin (aka Tammy) has put up a sweet remix of some of his older clips with some newer stuff too. So good!

Anthem 2...

In other 'Things looking cool' news, the new C.R.E.A.M. frame from WTP looks pretty good - more info here and here. Andrew Jackson is awesome, so that frame's pretty well deserved!

Oh yeah - another Red Bull edit I just remembered about (and should probably put up by the other Red Bull comp edit above? Meh) - the Most Wanted comp from Austin. The BMX boards are lit up with talk of Kevin Porter doing a line someone else couldn't do - it's a comp, handle it. You don't ride comps to have a relaxing, fun time - that's what actual riding is for (seeing as KP split the money with the other guy anyway, it really isn't important).

Did my usual BMXFeed lap just now, and having sprayed open a load of tabs suddenly started hearing an advert for Calgon. I couldn't work out where it was coming from as all the pages were legit BMX sites and there were no pop-ups anywhere. Then I spotted a fun little auto-playing advert on TheComeUp, along with another advert about how I should apparently eat beef or lamb during the week. I think I prefered the way over the top skating-related adverts on there compared to weak, day-time TV style adverts about things I don't care about. Money's money though I guess? While I'm on the subject of skating, the new John Motta Bangin' is amazing.

Right, so this might not work. I'll preface it with that.



Hopefully, what you can see above is the awesome 'zine that Rich Forne put together about the Dunkerque trip that I posted up yesterday. If the above doesn't work, hit up Mutiny's site. It's well worth reading!

You might notice as well how the video's really good to watch - nicely filmed, works really well together? Might also spot how the photos look cool too? Well, that's sort of what happens if you get people who specialise in doing things to do them. A while back BMX photographers started getting sort of replaced by just 'people with a camera', and it seems Vans are stepping it up with the new Let It Ride video "Bro cam project". I don't know if there's a seperate 'proper' video to go with this, but I'd certainly hope so. If not, maybe we should progress this whole idea along and stop frame designers and product engineers from doing new products, and just get people who can draw a semi-accurate picture of a BMX part to design them? I mean, you know, all it really is is drawing stuff, right?



Lastly, something I forgot to post yesterday - Kriss Kyle keeps getting better...

I'm super tired and can't really think enough to string sentences together properly, so here are two cool videos - one from Mutiny, and one from Rob Ridge.

Confusion.

Every time I hear the name Joss Fenn I always, despite his name being different, think it's my old friend Joss from Southbank. As a result, I alway think "No way, cool!" and then watch the video. Over time, I've learnt that although he's not who I think he is, Joss Fenn's videos are worth watching in any case. Couple his riding with the cool editing from Purpl, and you get a cool Purpl30. Speaking of editing, Mike King gets his own Purpl30 too where you get to see him use one of those weird-yet-good mouse (mice? mouses?) things, edit some clips, and show he's part of the Dell Massif. RPRZNT.





Mutiny posted this video of Grant C and Brandon H (can never really remember how to spell this surname. Good thing I don't work for ESPN or someone like that where you have to do the whole "I'M A PRO SPORTS REPORTER!" thing of refering to people by their surname only...). I'm also posting it, purely because you really need to check out how incredibly casual Hoerres' (did it) barspin down the 2-set is at 1:32. I mean, I know it's only a 2-set, but it just looks so good and I don't really know why. You'll see.



Lastly, this is a Mark Webb video so you should probably know what to expect, but the frontie onto the building thing's pretty cool.

Yeah, well, it's good. Alright? The Get Busy Living videos are all worth watching, whether it's the full video or just the 'Episodes'. Free, rad content.

Watching how ridiculous awesome that footage looks also reminded me about Defgrip's camera feature. A pretty good read, 'specially if you're into all things video.

Lastly, from Mutiny, is a video that I didn't really get, but was amused by.

How refreshing!

Certainly a "Love or hate" kinda person, Tom "Dang Dang" Dugan's Props bio is pretty cool. This is from #72 so not really that fresh, but got uploaded by Props a few days ago. Nice to see someone cranking at stuff, doing some different things and just plain sending it. Edit's pretty interesting too, and actually features some form of biographical information too which is a definite bonus. Refreshing change to the editing-by-numbers schtick everyone else pumps out these days.

Confusing

Saw this on Mutiny's video page and wondered how I hadn't seen it before in that it was 4 days old, but then a quick look at the viewing figures suggests that it's only actually gone 'live' today. Thought I was slipping...



Goes without saying that it's pretty awesome though, Rich Forne's done a pretty decent job on that!

Holidays should be relaxing

...but they aren't. As a result of a brief roadtrip then a load of image editing work, I've been a bit out of the loop this week, so as much for my own benefit as anything else, here's some stuff.

I don't know why, but the way that video was edited sort of made it seem like as a viewer, I was being punished for something. In related 'music I didn't like' editing news, Ride US posted a 2 week old video on their site that featured literally the worst song I've ever heard - which was in fact so bad I'm not posting it here - but it did lead me to seeing this video of Hoang Tran on Vimeo after I did a bit of lurking on Subrosa's channel. Hefty.



Another Vimeo find was this edit of Bruno Hoffmann. The guy's ridiculous.

In random "People I know in videos" news, Vince Mayne and Duncan Lloyd have both had videos out in the past few days. Vinnie's video is for Coalition, and Duncan's is just for fun. Federal must've hooked him up with a fresh setup recently though, seems weird seeing him on anything other than an all-purple chav-attracter setup! I'd also like to take this opportunity to point out that Duncan's one of the soundest people I've ever met in BMX, and also possesses the key to infinite 1-time manual 180s. Experience shows, and I'd wager that pretty much everything in this video was pulled first go...





Incidentally, Duncan's video is full of pretty much all my favourite spots in London. I'd very much like to ride them again. Exploration for the win and all that.

In sort of related news, Aversion also have a new video out.



In... well... not related news (in pretty much any way), there's an interesting video of Chase Hawk booting around the X-Games park course. This is what all park courses should be like.

Saturday = Awesome video day?

Apparently so. Something new and something old in the form of a Bangin' new Eric Lichtenberger video from Sunday, which potentially the most ridiculous pegless rail-related ender ever?

The 'old' is this awesome section from Brighton Ain't Ready featuring Sean Sexton and the not-used-enough TV On The Radio. "Desperate Youth, Bloodthirsty Babes" and "Dear Science" are well worth a listen if you're planning on broadening your musical spectrum. Vocal harmonies? Hell. Yeah.



Speaking of pegless enders too - not the first time this ender's been seen in a web edit (Ben Lewis got involved with one to name but one person), but it's serious business none-the-less. Some awesome little bits and pieces in the rest of the video too, but what else would you expect from the freshly Fit sponsored Farren Downes? The dude's rad...

These two videos dropped within the past 3 hours or so, and they're both ridiculously good. One from Mutiny and one from Stranger. The Stranger one is fully amazing. I've never heard of that guy before, and me and my housemate just watched that video and it's the first one I've seen where I've literally been saying "Oh my God" after seeing moves in it. Watch it now!
