Smorgasbord.

So, here we are again. Another big gap in posts, another load of videos that were cool.

First up, Chad Kerley - hadn't really heard of him before, but it appears he's pretty good! Certainly good enough for the-company-formerly-known-as-Nike-6.0 to hook him up, which is saying something.



Sticking with shoe companies - this is the crash edit from the Osiris trip I posted before. Again, half cabs = danger danger.



Tenuous shoe company related - thought Shaun Hadlington was still on Orchid, but who knows? Not me. Anyway, Shaun's got an amazing style that's even better to see in person. This is his section from Rain Dogs and it's got some rad lines in it.



Can I keep this up? Vans have fully put out their Vans/Cult collaboration shoes, and here is Vans/Cult rider Chase Hawk doing some cool moves in the ridiculously good looking new concrete park in Austin. As if they needed more to ride over there?!



Apparently I can keep it up - Alex Donnachie rode for Lotek in this year's RideToGlory (that magazine's out now, and is well worth checking out for the DVD alone. Some awesome stuff in there, all the edits rule!), but here he is in an edit for Mutiny.



Still going - Ben Lewis hit up the Etnies 'TF' whilst over on a visit with Fit, here's a self-confessed 'dodgy iPhone edit'. Ben's also in RTG and also does good stuff. Not that surprising...



Still on Etnies - Brian Kachinsky has a new shoe out, a variation of the Jameson 2. Fairly... er... 'interesting' looking. Here's a video explaination of it, and some standard hefty riding from him too.



...and that's about it, really. I'd sort of feel bad posting up non-shoe-sponsor-related stuff even though that just seemed to pop out of nowhere. Coffee time...

EDIT: Actually, just remembered one. Must... find... connection... Darryl Tocco rides for Osiris and Aaron Smith (I think?) rides for DC. Here's a trademark "Never put out a bad edit" video from Kink of their latest sojourn to France.

Cool, so it's basically Christmas (somehow - doesn't feel like it?!), so hope you all have a good one.

As a potentially last post of the year (depending on how things go), here's a couple of recent video highlights.

Etnies team is really good, and in this video (click the link to view it) it really shows. Some awesome lines at some awesome spots with some awesome weather. Jealous.

Speaking of teams - Seamus McKeon is now on Subrosa's Skeleton Crew. Definitely deserves it, good to see innovative people getting rewarded (even if the song isn't as innovative as the riding (oh yeah, made a song-stealing reference (went there (brackets)))...



Whilst we're still mentioning teams, to make up for it seeming like they haven't had a new web-edit from their team riders in a while, Federal have put up a 'best of' Derek Strickland video.



And laaaastly, a secret session with Ben Murphy.

...rips. You'd have thought someone could've hooked him up with some new bars seeing as he was at the warehouse, unless it's just my rubbishy eyes making his bars look super bent?



Interesting to see how The Berrics Effect is hitting the BMX world though. I'm into it. Seeing as we're talking Seventies, Bruno Hoffmann is now on Federal having left WTP recently. I just realised I didn't actually mention that before, so apologies if that came as a shock. Some people seem to be super into all that side of things, so sorry for not breaking that to you gently. Hopefully this farewell edit will soothe the pain.



While I'm remembering things I didn't post, this is Chicken's section from The Make's Rain Dogs video. Beast.

Because I don't exactly have the Pijin Blog Viewer Demographic Data to hand I don't really know how much you people like to read more full-on industry-tech stuff, but if - like me - you do, there's an interesting interview over on Ride US with John Povah about the future for Etnies. I think pretty much everyone who's ridden brakeless and has had to buy a pair of shoes has at some point though about how cool it'd be to have a dual compound brakeless shoe, and considering the amount of rider owned shoe companies out there I'm pretty amazed no-one's actually done it earlier. I guess it's a lot easier to snake Vans than having to come up with some totally new bits 'n' pieces... Anyway, biting aside, some cool stuff on show.

So - at work today, the post comes in, and there happens to be a copy of Anthem II in it. Wellity wellity. That video. I'm going to do a proper stand-alone post about it tomorrow (hopefully), so in the mean-time I'll just say that you very much need to hit up the the shop and get a copy sorted for yourselves before they run out.

Back to the usual internet business in hand, Kink can also drop out the "Even our flow team kicks ass" line that another company used before, as their 'am' team gets some riding done as part the of the Jetlagged video project type affair. Some really cool riding in this - Ben Hittle, Albert Mercado, Lil Jon, etc. are involved which is all you really need to know.



For those of you weaned on the Internet and as a direct result have a 90sec long attention span and a refusal to deal with polysyllabic words, the following two nuggets of info won't appeal - you should look away now.

Saw this on Vimeo's homepage today, which also led me to the Etnies video for the Skate And Create competition too. In short - skate companies get given a few days in a warehouse to make a 3-5min edit. That's pretty much it...





And just 'cos it's awesome, Fully Flared's intro too.

Holidays should be relaxing

...but they aren't. As a result of a brief roadtrip then a load of image editing work, I've been a bit out of the loop this week, so as much for my own benefit as anything else, here's some stuff.

2 bits from Matty Lambert - some filming tips, and also a clip of Bengo confusing what seems like all of America with this nozzer edit.





Vimeo has some new coding action on the go, so if it goes wrong, directly blame Vimeo and indirectly blame those tool-bags over at Apple.

Dan Lacey has dropped a new Daily Telegraph edit. That's a phrase I didn't think I'd ever say. Head over to Federal to view it, as I refuse to put auto-playing videos on here...

Federal also have the new Dig cover on their site, and in new magazines news Ride is out now too, which features a Mutiny X Etnies trip - the video of which is here:



Speaking - as we were - of Ride, they've got a new edit of Lima up which also gives you the chance to win an ATF. Click that link to go over there and grovel like a 'tard like so many people seem to, thinking it'll enhance their chances.



I don't know why, but the way that video was edited sort of made it seem like as a viewer, I was being punished for something. In related 'music I didn't like' editing news, Ride US posted a 2 week old video on their site that featured literally the worst song I've ever heard - which was in fact so bad I'm not posting it here - but it did lead me to seeing this video of Hoang Tran on Vimeo after I did a bit of lurking on Subrosa's channel. Hefty.



Another Vimeo find was this edit of Bruno Hoffmann. The guy's ridiculous.



Very much lastly because I'm tired of this screen, go to LeastMost, read an interview about it, then watch I Love My Bicycle. Most definitely worth it.

In an old interview, Eddie Cleveland replied to the question "What would you change about yourself?" with "Bigger feet and hair like a white man." Well, Eddie has another interview up, and because I have larger feet, I missed out on getting the awesome pair of Etnies from TK Maxx my house-mate got by having undersized feet. Speaking of Etnies, the Odyssey X Etnies shoe is out - click that link to check it. How's that for editorial link-up? Pretty damn fine, if I say so myself.

One of my favourite web-videos from last year was a Give-D edit of the San Diego locals with some kind of remix of Born To Be Wild as the sound-track - Albert Mercado and Hoang Tran were stand-outs in that vid, and now Albert Mercado has a new little skatepark edit I spotted on the Kink site, and Hoang Tran has some lines in the latest Tuesdays With Miles I saw on TheComeUp.





Time for some photos methinks - first up, some awesome photos by Rob Dolecki (I shouldn't need to put 'awesome' before 'photos' there, bearing in mind Rob Dolecki hasn't ever seemingly shot a bad one) on Dig from a recent Banks Jam, and then some photos of Mike Hoder in a "The new flipbook" style thing on S&M.

Anyway, Corey Martinez, as I mentioned before, was wearing a pair of Etnies, and is apparently getting hooked up by John Povah on some kinda flow deal type thing. Fair enough. No word about KP yet, more on that next week (I can hardly wait!) - Osiris or Duffs is my guess.

Anyway, after the most boring post I've done in a while, check this out. The guy's pose after he's had his gun blown out of his hand is priceless. That "Well, that's that" look, before getting wrestled to the ground by some angry men. Sucks to be him.
