Man, go away for another weekend and so much good stuff gets posted... Here's a quick re-cap of some treats.

Scott Ditchburn's part of the new Lotek mixtape is now up. Wonder if that first clip was a nod to the intro of the old (and awesome!) Lotek Mixtape?



Tammy has got another awesome edit out - machine! - this time for Amity.

Reason.

Almost a week off? Er... yeah... about that...

Whilst I didn't really do much in the space of a week apart from ride quite a lot and watch rugby matches in freezing stadiums in Cardiff, Rich Forne managed to show how the productive people of the world do things by going to Israel and managing to get a billion clips despite both riders taking themselves out of the equation mid-way through the trip. Skills. A different take on things to most BMX videos which is cool to see.



That was for Mutiny in case you hadn't guessed.

Keeping it more local (Although knowing Bow, probably about as dangerous as being in Israel), Tim Lewis is now hooked up good 'n' proper and has this video to celebrate that fact. I knew Tim pretty well from the 3 years of riding around London we shared together, but getting to hit up London again recently to say hi again was a treat. Rad dude, and no video will ever really give you the full Tim experience.



Tim's style always sort of reminded me of Brad Simms, and as if to just give me the evidence to try and prove that, The Set put up this video of him a day or two ago. Simply ridiculous. Going uuuup...



Lastly, Cinema put this up today. Awesome team, soon to have some good product flowing out the door too if rumours are to be believed? Anyways, here she blows.

The only thing bigger than the moves in that was that embed code. Jesus H. Christ that scared the hell out of me when that popped up. Speaking of rubbish embedding, oh look - the Sunday player. I used to - for some reason - think I wasn't really keen on Alex Magellan's riding, but this video set that straight. Cool style, cool outlook, cool moves. Cool.



I CtrlC+CtrlV'd that content, but I definitely won't be doing that with this Ben Hittle interview, and this Chase Dehart interview, both of which are pretty cool.

As a result of seeing that Ben Hittle interview I lurked TheKinkHouse site and saw this pretty amazing Sean Sexton edit. I'd argue that those moves were oppo rather than switch, but tomato/tomato, right? Way to use an audio joke in a text-based piece eh.



Lastly, yet another awesome video from Mathias Dandois. Seeing as street seems to generally take some cues from flat, it'll be interesting to see what people make of this...

Some time later...

So, it's been a while. Saw a bunch of cool stuff I didn't get a chance to post, so here's a sort of fragmented recap on things I thought were good/interesting.

ESPN had a bit of an Empire related frenzy this week (well, not really) - firstly a 'house check' with Chase Hawk showing how riding bicycle well can make you enough money to get amongst it in a piiiiimp apartment, and secondly with a catch-up with Tom from Empire about Dave Parrick who's currently throwing together the new Empire video. Confused? You will be. The last ESPN piece I was going to mention was this interview with Chase Dehart. Seems like a pretty straight-up kinda person which is good to see in this day and age. Seeing as that's a load of text-related posts which will interest about 2% of the readership of this blog, here's some moving pictures and sounds.

Kink are not only almost homeless, but are also in possession of some ridiculously talented riders. This video highlights this.



I spotted this over on Clicked who spotted it on Vinyl (which means, Mr. Anonymous Commenter from before, that I didn't 'just copy it from TCU or Vital'...). Clint Reynolds is one stylish dude, and is yet another reason to buy Anthem 2. Just saying.



Something that did come from TheComeUp is this - the intro to OSS "Football", and the first section by Mr. Rory Ellis. Tune! Very much looking forward to Craig Passero and Mastroni's sections in that.



Lastly, one for you filming geeks - a 1000fps edit that isn't someone nibbling a park. Bruno's got a crazy way of doing things!



Seeing as no-one (apart from Woozy) use it any more, it's mental seeing the embed code for Youtube now having been so used to the new slim-line Vimeo code.

I'd be willing to go so far as to say that this video is actually better than any video Odyssey have done before (yes, including Electronical). Literally too good. Lots of amazing moves in this, although Hoang Tran's 74,000mph 180 over the end of the rail down a set was ridiculous. Tom Perry and Tom Dugan have some hot lines in this too.

I didn't check the length of that video before I started watching it, and every time it faded to black I thought it was the end, and was then pleasantly surprised when it kicked in again.

While we're talking new rail tech, here's the pretty sweet "Welcome to the team" edit by Christian Rigal for new sponsors United.



This isn't really 'new' any more, but Johnny Devlin's section from Into The Void is still nuts.



These are new though - filmed in Tokyo for Carhartt, Stefan Lantschner and Eduards Zunda hit up some shiny new spots that are previously un-touched by BMX, and although it's not necessarily cutting edge stuff it's still cool to see good riding on fresh, interesting setups.

Cavalcade of awesomeness?

You betcha! First off, an amazing edit from Kink featuring footage from the Kink House. Considering they're on 'flow', Lloyd and Ben Hittle absolutely rule in this. Some super good riding in it and a cool edit, so set aside some time to check it out. Right now.



Continuing the 'Best of 2010' web videos shenanigans, Defgrip have just put up this collection of their exclusive edits from the past year. Some really great videos in there (naturally), too many to feasibly list.

Ricky Adam has also got involved with posting up year-end recaps, this time a slideshow of his favourite shots of the past year. Ricky's one of the best out there so it's cool to see more of his work. RickyAdamPhoto is where you need to navigate to to see more.



That's quite a lot to be getting on with, so get it all assimilated then use it as some inspiration for tomorrow if you're lucky enough to be getting the day off thanks to that bank holiday...

Mixed bag.

If you're a fan of incomplete photos of pro riders bikes, then it's almost like Christmas (2011) has come early, thanks to Mutiny and G-Sport.

Just been using some tinted lacquer in the next room, and that + a cold = bad times in a respiratory sense. Not cool.

What is cool is going online and finding a Cinema promo up. Chase Dehart, Garrett Reynolds, Corey Martinez, Sean Sexton, Nathan Williams? Mm-hmm.



Now - if someone named their contest and had the phrase "Street" in there, you'd expect some street, wouldn't you? Well, apparently not...

Deary me.

Apparently the world is out to get me today - from the guy complaining about us being parked perfectly legally while he was ironically illegally parked to the person giving me hassle for an item I'm selling online, even down to the guy who got his dog lost down a hole on the face of a cliff next to a pump-track I was riding meaning that I had the constant, off-putting noise of a scared dog whimpering - today's been one of those days.

Fortunately, Cult have re-vamped their website and put some new videos up. Winners! Dakota Roche is ridiculous.



Alex Kennedy also has a new Cult edit up which is equally cool. All about the nollie can - techedy tech! Good to see someone thinking outside the box rather than trying to work out how many E.T.s they can do off something...

Apparently so. Something new and something old in the form of a Bangin' new Eric Lichtenberger video from Sunday, which potentially the most ridiculous pegless rail-related ender ever?

The 'old' is this awesome section from Brighton Ain't Ready featuring Sean Sexton and the not-used-enough TV On The Radio. "Desperate Youth, Bloodthirsty Babes" and "Dear Science" are well worth a listen if you're planning on broadening your musical spectrum. Vocal harmonies? Hell. Yeah.



Speaking of pegless enders too - not the first time this ender's been seen in a web edit (Ben Lewis got involved with one to name but one person), but it's serious business none-the-less. Some awesome little bits and pieces in the rest of the video too, but what else would you expect from the freshly Fit sponsored Farren Downes? The dude's rad...

Don't know whether it's 'cos they've got some holes to fill in their range now, or just that 4Down have been working on this for a while, but Ben Lewis is getting a signature frame according to Ride.

Apparently Seventies have a bit of room in their warehouses after Xmas, as they've managed to build a pretty nuts looking indoor setup there. Fair bit more to that than there was last time I was there!



In some ways I was glad I missed the NCSL prem so I didn't have to watch myself ride. Unfortunately for Sean Sexton and Darryl Tocco, this video got made. I guess on the flipside, they're actually amazingly good so it shouldn't be quite so much of a hardship...

Tom Bright is a rad dude, and I'm not just saying that because of the high likelyhood of me riding with him tomorrow. This is part 2 of Dry Spell - I posted Scotty T's part a few days ago. Bear in mind that Tom split his time between racking himself on those hippy hops and filming and editing the video - multi-tasking: it's not just for girls.

Odyssey have knocked up this edit of Gary Young, Aaron Ross and Chase Hawk riding in the X-Games.



Have Kink made a bad video ever? It doesn't really seem like it. This video's no exception - and in case you were wondering, I did some calculations, and that last rail is about 948% steep. So steep you don't even measure it in angles, it's a percentage. That's scientific fact.

Anyone seen the point?

You can clearly see that the guys who run the Dew Tour obviously realised that street was pretty popular. As people who are constantly after increased ratings and more exposure for sponsors and logos and all that jazz, so they appeared to think that trying to appeal to street riders would be beneficial. No doubt they also noticed that street web-edits were pretty popular and received a hell of a lot of views - especially if they contain the 'big names' - so, what better way to attract street riders than have the biggest names ride street, and make a street web-edit? Well, that kinda makes sense (Apart from missing the non-competitive point of street riding, and the no pressure, do-what-you-want point of it too), but when that 'street' is actually a pretty linear park format, and the riding is limited to just doing back and forth runs on that particular setup, it's not really the same thing. At all. Although the riding's pretty insane in these videos, there's no real connection to street whatsoever. Must be pretty stressful for the filmers too, having to try and make uniformly painted ramps with sponsors logos all over the place actually look good, and try and get different angles in. No fun at all. Ah well, I'm sure they'll get some £££'s from it, but it does seem to be a return of the 'big' competitions just trying to milk BMX for all it's worth. After some of the people running those biggers comps had turned it around and actually seemed to be more concerned with the way that they interacted with and represented BMX, it's pretty disappointing to see organisers doing stuff like this...

Anyway, the videos are pretty cool I guess (Although nowhere near as cool as it would be with the different backgrounds and cool environment that street brings with it, as well as unique setups that allow riders to be more creative (The point!)), it still seems like they could've done so much more, and so much better.
