Postscript

Just spotted this over on the substantially awesome Props website - I remember seeing this in the actual Props 71 DVD and thinking it was cool, but this jam looks all good.

This is a lot older (online speaking) but from the same issue - Steve Debusk has a pure meathead style, despite being vegan (that's "pure meathead style" in a very good way). Yeah, you work that out. Rad lines.

Misunderstood...

Hidden X Liberty, or Liberty X Hidden? The video's definitely from Hidden, but judging from Liberty X's last chart entry, they're pretty 'hidden' now too...

As we all know, X is the Roman Numeral for 10, and while we're talking numbers, here's the trailer for Tres, which goes live on Fly's site on the 24th December. Gonna be worth it!

Lastly, if you're finding it hard to sleep tonight, just put this video of Mike Hoder getting a hair-cut on. Weirdest video ever...

Saw that over on S&M's site, or 'SandM' depending on if you go from real names or URL names.

Anthem 2...

Well, this ought to be good?

Some fresh content over on the Anthem site.

Think I forgot to post this before, but the Red Bull Trick or Treat jam looked pretty cool:

In other 'Things looking cool' news, the new C.R.E.A.M. frame from WTP looks pretty good - more info here and here. Andrew Jackson is awesome, so that frame's pretty well deserved!

For some quality pigeon handling technique, check out this video of Mutiny's Continental version of Brazel (in-joke), Rubio.

Oh yeah - another Red Bull edit I just remembered about (and should probably put up by the other Red Bull comp edit above? Meh) - the Most Wanted comp from Austin. The BMX boards are lit up with talk of Kevin Porter doing a line someone else couldn't do - it's a comp, handle it. You don't ride comps to have a relaxing, fun time - that's what actual riding is for (seeing as KP split the money with the other guy anyway, it really isn't important).

Bleurgh.

Who cares about titles anyway? I should've just put :eltiT for the millionth time and be done with it...

Anyway: Kevin Porter has been through some dark times (Almost as dark as watching that England vs. Germany game in a "proper" pub up North. Winston Churchill speeches being played over the German national anthem? Serious business), but has done this web-video anyway.

Ty Morrow continues to be awesome, biting styles of video editing does not.

Lastly - Orchid have realised how awesome vulcanised soles feel and are now getting amongst it. This is a good thing.

Technique?

The video sandwich? A video first, this time a quick round up of some stuff from '09 from Kevin Porter for Vinyl:

Now some text - this time, courtesy of Jeff Z. I mentioned the awesome interview he did with Ian Schwartz for RideUS, and now the cool photos from that interview are up with a more up-to-date interview with Ian about his plans for the future. He's got some pretty interesting stuff to say, and as someone from a primarily farming community when I was young, it's interesting to read about someone who - like me - liked riding, but is now being drawn back there - unlike me. Well worth a read, and the photos are pretty amazing too (by everyone's standards too, not just 'Good for Ride US' which can sometimes be the case...).

Lastly, a video - this time from TCU from what I can tell, but it's featuring Bobby Simmons who's now on Cult. The guy's got an... interesting style. I kinda like it, but at the same time it's a little odd. Still, ch-ch-ch-ch-check it.

Snow. Gaaah!

Seriously, I'm fully over this snow gig. There's just no point to it...

Anyway, there's a lot of point to this Midwest Mixtape. Featuring a lot of riders you wanna watch, and Tony Neyer doing a pretty good Ty Morrow impression - you'll see what I mean. Some good tunes and some good riding. Almost hit my skatepark limit in it, but that outdoor ramshackled skatepark actually looked pretty fun so that helped.

Une vidéo de bicyclette.

Seriously, give Ryan Elcock a beret and that's some proper French steez.

Consider that as one for all you park dudes out there too. Blog equality and all that.

If you want to hear a really elaborate way of saying "I used to ride Orchid, but now ride for Duffs", then click here.

At 0:30 in this video by Will Evans, why is Stefan Lantschner shooting photos?!

This is a video of a street jam:

If you're thinking to yourself "Hot damn, that looks sweet!" - you have the chance to get involved in one. THIS SUNDAY at 12pm meeting at mini Lloyds (aka Norwich Union hip) at Bristol, P5 are holding a jam. Seriously - this isn't even a case of "Be there or be square", it's a case of "Be there and have an awesome time or be... well, don't." Not quite as catchy, but it gets the point across.

Another day, another Dry Spell section - Pete Greaves this time, in a section of the video he edited himself. Big 'n' tall!

Saga.

Third post about what people are wearing on their feet? PijinFashion.blogspot.com? Anyway, Corey Martinez, as I mentioned before, was wearing a pair of Etnies, and is apparently getting hooked up by John Povah on some kinda flow deal type thing. Fair enough. No word about KP yet, more on that next week (I can hardly wait!) - Osiris or Duffs is my guess.

Anyway, after the most boring post I've done in a while, check this out. The guy's pose after he's had his gun blown out of his hand is priceless. That "Well, that's that" look, before getting wrestled to the ground by some angry men. Sucks to be him.

A predictive text?

Pointed it out as a joke a few days ago, but turns out that actually, T-Nez isn't on Orchid any more, and neither is Kevin Porter according to this post on the Orchid site. Calling things early!

While we're speaking of Orchid, they've got a "sneak peek" of the new Randy Brown shoe's black/gum colourway. Every other word is bold.

Frenchys Day 6.

Done!

EDIT: Actually, I'm not - apparently Randy Taylor is getting hooked up by TheLongURLToType, according to this post by Mutiny. Here's his new rancidly-coloured setup:

Revelation.

Pretty sure I mentioned on here that Fly were working on some new brake system - turns out they were. Observe:

BMX TRICKS AND STUNTS, YO

I started off riding in a small, little town in Wales with nowt but a little mini-ramp, a 3-set and what could potentially be considered a flat-bank in so much as it's theoretically a bank, and isn't transitioned. Either way, it meant that we had to look at things differently when we were out riding to find stuff to do, so naturally seeing edits of people in roughly similar situations interest me. *Name removed for confidentiality* first e-mailed me a link to his friend's Youtube videos a while back, but then I actually got an e-mail off Joe himself with a link to a pair of new Vimeo videos. Some really creative riding here, proving that you don't have to live in a BMX fashion city to be able to put out a cool edit. Click here for his vimeo channel (Which has another vid on there).

People are Strange from ]:_:[ on Vimeo.

Thanks for the link, Joe!

Orchid mentioned on their site yesterday they'd be putting up a little Geoff Slattery edit, and lo, they have. I really like the word 'Orchid'. Orchid.

Geoff Slattery 2009 from Orchid Footwear on Vimeo.

I also really like the way that Geoff rides tight little ramp setups like that. You just know that was hard as hell to ride...

Speaking of Orchid, they also point out that Kevin Porter's now got a coffee sponsor. Hectic! Go here for irrelevant details that won't make a difference to your life.

In similar news, Eli Platt's quit Subrosa and Shadow to focus on uni. Fair play I guess, although my experience of uni hasn't exactly been favourable. Good to see him stand by his ideals though, Ride US have an interview up with him about it all. Shallow interview with a deep person.

Skating doesn't have anything to do with this blog, but I do and I like skating, so check out some cool skate company ads riiiight here, thanks to a link from InTheGnar, thanks to a link from BMXfeed.

Sunday have a new trailer up for Up, Up & Away, but it still won't make me buy it simply because I don't really want to spend money just to see the Ian Schwartz amazing double-section again. It's really good, but not good enough to buy for me. However, I'm told that I'm 'really negative' and that the video's 'sorta alright', so don't take my word for it. There's definitely some other good stuff on there, but we're pretty much talking better than Electronical (Not a challenge), but not as good as... say... That's It or I Wanna Live (Which most definitely is a challenge, because both those videos rule). I should probably also take this opportunity to point out how much I really want to see the new Empire video. So I will. I really want to see the new Empire video.

Oh, and S&M have some pics of their latest cash-cows on their news feed. Seeing as they're still sticking with their flash site, I can't deep-link to that page so you'll just have to either do battle with their site, or just take my word for it that you probably won't want a re-issued Holmes, you'd probably buy the Fit Shiv forks instead of the first "US-made tapered leg and integrated race" Pitchforks and that the seat (Which comes with Eclat-esque Pivotal adapter. Taiwan 1 - 0 Eclat) does it for me but won't do it for you. Just bear in mind I used to run race seats on my BMX 'cos I thought they looked cool - what would I know?

I am tired. That should also suggest to anyone offended by anything in here that they probably shouldn't take it personally. Getting my Kerouac steez on.

Furious jelly.

This is probably more for filming geeks out there, but yeah, 1000fps. Bang. Anyway, even if you're not into the rest of it skip to around 1:55 to see some furious jelly. You'll see what I mean.

I-Movix SprintCam v3 NAB 2009 showreel from David Coiffier on Vimeo.

I'd also recommend watching it in HD on their actual vimeo page.

While we're talking about non BMX stuff, here's a documentary (Well, it's 3 minutes long) on Reverse Graffiti that ties in nicely with the new Solid ad.

Mutiny have been a treasure-trove of good videos today, firstly posting up this BNQT/Tuesdays With Miles vid featuring some pretty big names (And some pretty big hops thanks to Brad Simms):

Go to BNQT for more videos.

And then this Robbo edit from Up In Smoke's bonus section:

Robbo's 'Up In Smoke' Bonus from Seventies Distribution on Vimeo.

Lastly, Macneil have a competition that you only stand a chance of winning if you're 17, are about to turn 18, and you live in America. So... yeah. In completely unrelated news, I'd forgotten how good this Josh Betley video is.

Represent.

Southampton RPRZNT.

ET Variations RPRZNT.

Fly RPRZNT.

Gazza RPRZNT.

Old school KP/DS RPRZNT.

Federal RPRZNT.

Trails RPRZNT.

Vic Ayala RPRZNT.

But yeah, enough of that. I'm pretty tired from riding a hell of a lot then going and playing football for 2 hours in a big metal flood-lit cage, so apologies for the lack of effort. I'm gonna go take my pegs off and see if my hub's fallen apart (again). Something feels awful back there.

Bike maintenance RPRZNT.

One sec...

...forgot to say - while we're talking DVD uploads, Vinyl have uploaded Kevin P's section from their last (?) DVD, check it out below.

Almost at post #1000 - craziness (It's also almost 2 years since I started helping out with the blog...).

KP+JK=Bueno

UGP Welcomes KP and Jeff K from Vinylbmx on Vimeo.

Spotted this little vid over on Orchid - Jeff K and Kevin Porter's "Welcome to the team" vid for UGP. Pretty interesting stuff in it, check it out!

In Orchid related news, LittleDevil are now done with their 'til-now recently updated blog. It makes sense after the company's funeral, but there we go. Good luck with future projects!
