I'd be willing to go so far as to say that this video is actually better than any video Odyssey have done before (yes, including Electronical). Literally too good. Lots of amazing moves in this, although Hoang Tran's 74,000mph 180 over the end of the rail down a set was ridiculous. Tom Perry and Tom Dugan have some hot lines in this too.
I didn't check the length of that video before I started watching it, and every time it faded to black I thought it was the end, and was then pleasantly surprised when it kicked in again.

This isn't really 'new' any more, but Johnny Devlin's section from Into The Void is still nuts.
These are new though - filmed in Tokyo for Carhartt, Stefan Lantschner and Eduards Zunda hit up some shiny new spots that are previously un-touched by BMX, and although it's not necessarily cutting edge stuff it's still cool to see good riding on fresh, interesting setups.
But yeah - Ashley Charles has a new video out today that's... unusual. Bit of a weird one, but any footage of him's always good!
In related "Good to see riding from them" video news, Ride posted Aitken's section from the Electronical video today. Seem to remember I posted it up here relatively recently, but still, it's cool...
Also, Sunday put up a new edit from Lee Dennis today. The guy does some cool stuff, so as you'd expect this is a pretty good video.
Lastly, Banned 3 was ridiculous, and from this section of Banned 4 that video is nuts too. I basically got to the end of Rickey Bates' section and realised it needed to be put up here, and so... er... here it is.

DSLRs are 'in' these days, especially for filming duties. My boss just bagged himself a 7D and they are nice to see, although pretty much every video I've seen people use them on recently has sort of felt detached from it all. I kinda miss the low-fi, up close look of older videos, maybe... Anyway, from Stoke with love:
Ride have a pretty cool overspill piece up on Tenerife. Randomly, I was checking a customer's address in Tenerife earlier today, and hit up the Street view feature on Google. I was remarking then on how many spots there were on the street our customer lived on, turns out there's plenty more around there. Drop out "The new Barca?" line, perhaps?

Just to remind people, that isn't the newest footage of Aitken to show where he is in his recovery now, but it certainly puts this into perspective:
5 months, and he was back riding a bike again. Pretty incredible. Bike riding pales into insignificance when you get hurt like that, but comparing the clips in that other video of him in that walker struggling to walk, then him riding his bike is pretty amazing...
Possibly the best thing from today is seeing that Mike Aitken is back on a bike, according to this story on his site and this video:
It must be a pretty amazing feeling to get to roll around on a bike again after all he's been through. Good luck with everything, Mike!
In other news...
It's interesting to compare styles of video that are based on a fairly similar format. Both of these videos (One featuring Stephen Moxley, one featuring Josh Betley and Kevin Kirally) are park based, yet I'm way more into one than the other. Have a guess.

Looks pretty rad, and if you click around on the Mutiny and Dig site you can see some of the spreads from the mag which look sweet as hell. Like they said on the Mutiny site, give print some love and pick up a copy - Dig are getting it spot on these days.

Head over to their site to check 'em out, their new Flash widgets kill this blog. Might want to put the kettle on to boil and make a tea/coffee while you're waiting for their site to load, too...
Apparently, the Duffs 4130 shoe is "Iconic", or so I'm told. Personally, the only recollection of it I have was thinking they weren't all that nice, and that was it, but hey - that's me. Regardless, the new 4130 Low is out in plenty of Nike 6.0 biting colourways, so check out TK Maxx in about 3 months and grab yourself a bargain in their shoe section.
Mike Aitken continues to progress, this time literally in leaps and bounds, jumping up onto an 8" high ledge with both feet. Considering the trouble he was/is having with movement on his right side, that's pretty amazing. Plenty of other updates on Mike Aitken.com too.
If I could embed audio on this blog, I'd probably get Hman to say "Subrosa" just 'cos it cracks me up, and also fits in to this next piece: Subrosa's new grips, frames and forks are now in the UK, according to an e-mail I got earlier. The Alameda, Rich Hirsch's signature frame, looks pretty damn sweet, although the seat-tube doesn't look as kinked as it used to? Might just be my eyes. Head over to their site and check out the pics on their - you can zoom in and pan around them to your heart's content, which is pretty cool, and certainly beats squinting at tiny 'detail' photos...
According to this video, Joel made it up to London and it wasn't raining, which suggest to me Joel's CGI skills are pretty godly. When did that happen?!
