Back in the game?

Well, sort of. Long distance trips each weekend are taking their toll. I do, however, still get a chance to watch BMX videos once in a while...

I hadn't seen any footage of Josh Harrington for pretty much forever until just now - his "April 2011" video's been pretty popular it seems, and with good reason. Brakes are off, over-pegs are on.



How come our security guards don't look like this? I mean, I could take or leave the gun aspect of things, but still...



That was shot by Rich Forne for Props - just a behind the scenes thing, so it'll be interesting to see the result...

Nike have money, and they aren't afraid to spend that money. This is how we end up with trailers like this one, for The Pool.



This is getting on a bit now, but Steve Churchill is a beast as this Demolition vid proves.



Shane Weston is one creative dude, which I highly approve of.



After a bit of a chat with Hman on Facebook the other night I had a lurk on Streetphire, where I saw this Unit 23 'spot check' by Dave Sowerby. The man can do no wrong, best edits! I mean I'm no fan of park edits, but this is awesome.



Kink put up this edit of the 'Best of' the Kink House as well as some unseen clips. The whole Kink team rule, so even though this is slightly older, largely re-used footage it's still boss.



Garrett Reeves is a beast. This is just 60secs of his riding - I'd urge you to check out his Football section (click his tag) to check that out too. So good.



Lastly - Fit put up this Trippin' edit to show they're bouncing back from that whole Cult thing. Some radness in this. Van Homan is still one burly dude even after bonking his head.

Missed opportunity.

If I'd have checked it out earlier, I could've done a Matty Lambert triple header. What a tool. Anyway, here is the third part of that trilogy of Matty L content, this time featuring Mark Webb and a painful reminder of just how many balls rolling your ankle sucks.



I just re-invented what the term 'screwface' really means with how much I cringed watching this video. I'm not even going to link to the competition purely because this video is that bad. Sufficed to say, you too could win some unpleasant meat-based snack if you entered it, but... well... you'll have to find your own way there. Bearing in mind how shamelessly corporate this whole thing is, it shouldn't be too hard to work out which website it comes from - not even mentioning the massive logos on the player...



Lastly, in the on-going saga of "How good can completes keep getting?!", Fit have waded in with their 2011 completes. I mean really, the spec 3 Eddie C bike. Damn!

Even though I know he didn't mean it like that, I still like to imagine Van Homan talking about himself in the 3rd person where he says "He always brought the jokes to The Van on any Fit trip." in the Fit/Edwin retrospective. Tom White is also off Fit, but didn't get a big photo feature thing. Controversial...

Man alive, check out the new Partners In Crime edit over on Freedom - those spots are amazing! Pretty rad video too, but hot damn, I wanna ride Spain/Italy now! Linkage.

Don't know whether it's 'cos they've got some holes to fill in their range now, or just that 4Down have been working on this for a while, but Ben Lewis is getting a signature frame according to Ride.

Apparently Seventies have a bit of room in their warehouses after Xmas, as they've managed to build a pretty nuts looking indoor setup there. Fair bit more to that than there was last time I was there!



In some ways I was glad I missed the NCSL prem so I didn't have to watch myself ride. Unfortunately for Sean Sexton and Darryl Tocco, this video got made. I guess on the flipside, they're actually amazingly good so it shouldn't be quite so much of a hardship...

The BMXFU video's been getting slowly uploaded by Charlie Crumlish for the past few days/week. I watched this video around a friend's house, and man, it is long. I don't mean that in a good way either - it's probably one of the longest BMX DVDs I've seen in recent times. The 'skip' button got rinsed fairly heavily, so I can't really remember in my head which sections were good and which weren't. Despite being reasonably anti-park on a personal level, I still really like watching Harry Main ride. He's certainly pounding out the footjam variations these days, but that's not all he does in fairness to him. Jeremiah Smith also has some line-age in here too.

Pop quiz.

I think even without all the Fit branding on this video, just from watching the riding I'd imagine you'd be able to tell pretty much instantly that all these dudes ride for Fit. Not hatin', just statin' as they say.



This video also gives you a chance to hear some Australian hip-hop which pretty much always guarantees a laugh. Could be a cultural thing I guess, but there's something about that accent that doesn't really seem to fit with hip-hop/rap?

New Superstar cassette

The latest in the line of companies trying to compete with the G-Sport Ratchet and create a strong female-axle rear hub is Superstar, although, like many others, they appear to have gone for the weaker 3/8" female axle, rather than a 14mm female axle. It can't be that hard to make one with a 14mm female axle, surely? At least it'd be more reassuring for peg use then...

Anyways, before I crash out - Sunday have put out this edit for their Triumph bars. Could've abbreviated it to "Exactly like Slams, but a shade lighter", but hey ho. Some cool clips anyway, and it again gives me a chance to point out how awesome Ian Schwartz' section is on that DVD. Seriously, it's actually cut out seperate from the rest in it's own little .m4v video file so I can bust out the Nano and watch it wherever, whenever. Too good.



Chase Dehart has apparently found out that unlike me, he can actually wear a hat, and is now doing so. Equally, compared to his first media appearances, he's learnt to be a bit more outspoken. All good. Stay Fit #9:

Dig are apparently not quite up to date (which makes a change, 'cos their new "Something new on the site every day" thing's meant they're making the news, not re-posting it) today, in that in the Randy Taylor bikecheck they posted online an hour and a bit ago they list his parts sponsor as Demolition, yet that isn't the case any more. Hand-bags at dawn?

In other bikecheck - how interesting - news, Justin Inman's got a bikecheck up on Ride US. That is one pimp setup, although I spent the whole time thinking "2.3" on the back and 2.25" on the front? That's gotta feel weird..."

Lastly, Orchid made it into Maxim?! Pretty crazy, although those shoes do look pretty sweet. If they were actually vulc soles I'd probably have bought every existing pair of UK10's that are available. Subtle hint for free product? Always on the look-out...
