Smorgasbord.

So, here we are again. Another big gap in posts, another load of videos that were cool.

First up, Chad Kerley - hadn't really heard of him before, but it appears he's pretty good! Certainly good enough for the-company-formerly-known-as-Nike-6.0 to hook him up, which is saying something.



Sticking with shoe companies - this is the crash edit from the Osiris trip I posted before. Again, half cabs = danger danger.



Tenuous shoe company related - thought Shaun Hadlington was still on Orchid, but who knows? Not me. Anyway, Shaun's got an amazing style that's even better to see in person. This is his section from Rain Dogs and it's got some rad lines in it.



Can I keep this up? Vans have fully put out their Vans/Cult collaboration shoes, and here is Vans/Cult rider Chase Hawk doing some cool moves in the ridiculously good looking new concrete park in Austin. As if they needed more to ride over there?!



Apparently I can keep it up - Alex Donnachie rode for Lotek in this year's RideToGlory (that magazine's out now, and is well worth checking out for the DVD alone. Some awesome stuff in there, all the edits rule!), but here he is in an edit for Mutiny.



Still going - Ben Lewis hit up the Etnies 'TF' whilst over on a visit with Fit, here's a self-confessed 'dodgy iPhone edit'. Ben's also in RTG and also does good stuff. Not that surprising...



Still on Etnies - Brian Kachinsky has a new shoe out, a variation of the Jameson 2. Fairly... er... 'interesting' looking. Here's a video explaination of it, and some standard hefty riding from him too.



...and that's about it, really. I'd sort of feel bad posting up non-shoe-sponsor-related stuff even though that just seemed to pop out of nowhere. Coffee time...

Two edits today that are pretty much hit and runs as far as detailed posting goes from my end - time's tight I'm afraid! Osiris took some of their riders for a cruise around Arizona - sweet vid. Half cabs = danger danger.



Akin was someone who a lot of people spoke about when I lived in London but I didn't really ever get a chance to see him ride much. Fortunately, he's now hooked up by Superstar so we all get to see him now:

So, it's been a while. Saw a bunch of cool stuff I didn't get a chance to post, so here's a sort of fragmented recap on things I thought were good/interesting.

ESPN had a bit of an Empire related frenzy this week (well, not really) - firstly a 'house check' with Chase Hawk showing how riding bicycle well can make you enough money to get amongst it in a piiiiimp apartment, and secondly with a catch-up with Tom from Empire about Dave Parrick who's currently throwing together the new Empire video. Confused? You will be. The last ESPN piece I was going to mention was this interview with Chase Dehart. Seems like a pretty straight-up kinda person which is good to see in this day and age. Seeing as that's a load of text-related posts which will interest about 2% of the readership of this blog, here's some moving pictures and sounds.

Kink are not only almost homeless, but are also in possession of some ridiculously talented riders. This video highlights this.



I spotted this over on Clicked who spotted it on Vinyl (which means, Mr. Anonymous Commenter from before, that I didn't 'just copy it from TCU or Vital'...). Clint Reynolds is one stylish dude, and is yet another reason to buy Anthem 2. Just saying.



Something that did come from TheComeUp is this - the intro to OSS "Football", and the first section by Mr. Rory Ellis. Tune! Very much looking forward to Craig Passero and Mastroni's sections in that.



Lastly, one for you filming geeks - a 1000fps edit that isn't someone nibbling a park. Bruno's got a crazy way of doing things!



Seeing as no-one (apart from Woozy) use it any more, it's mental seeing the embed code for Youtube now having been so used to the new slim-line Vimeo code.

Mixed bag.

I'm typing this seated on a brand new office chair, sitting at a desk with my laptop, a proper mouse and mouse-mat, a digital typewriter, an external hard-drive, a massive dead moth that's staring at me and some turbo strength cold/flu medicine. Just thought I'd set that scene for you. Feels pretty pro...

Speaking of pro - the Rail Jam at Interbike is potentially the only real thing I'm going to post from Interbike in so much as it was the only thing that actually involved riding, and I'm very much more interested in that rather than more unimaginative parts. Some of the lines people do in this are about a million % more original and innovative than almost every part shown at Interbike this year. Vital had this video up - I don't want to put any spoilers, but damn... I really want to say how awesome it was to see some of the moves in there.



Speaking of things that are awesome - any Erik Elstran footage is good, and this video for The Set is no different. I'm keen on anything that's pretty much done purely to wind up people who deserve to be wound up, so if you find yourself recoiling in horror and heading over to TheComeUp to cry about the double 'giver' in this video, then you and I probably wouldn't get along.



In total contrast to that, most Etnies edits seem to be produced to try and appeal to as many people as possible and offend as few people as possible, and this video's not really much of an exception. That being said, there's some cool stuff in there.



Cult apparently had a promo they made to play at Interbike, so it should be cool seeing that when it drops for us 'normies' who didn't go to the Worst Place In The World just to look at some bicycle parts and watch Garrett Reynolds do a fakie nozzer down a ledge (Spoiler!), but The Trip have already put their promo video up. Pretty much a remix of their sweet 35min long 'promo' video from before, but still, worth watching:



Speaking of promos, I can't remember if I put this up before, and checking requires extensive clicking and looking so I'm not going to do that, but hopefully I didn't... Eclat's team is "Stacked" as they'd probably say on ESPN, and for good reason.

Some old, some new, mostly cool.

Speaking of - an old part from your new favourite rider, which happens to be pretty cool. Definitely one of my favourite Safety First parts - Albert Mercado. Seeing as it's also up, Lil Jon and Landon Anderson's split part, although I was never really as keen on it. The banger for that part is bangin' though!





While we're talking Kink - Darryl Tocco has been someone I've always looked out for footage of since I first saw Insight. He's been riding for Osiris for a while now, and this is an edit he put together for them.



Another guy on Osiris is the ever-changing Josh Betley. Rad dude and pretty handy on a bike too, no matter how many pegs he's got or how high his seat happens to be...



Cologne is also good, and as a bonus fact that spot with the double set with the weird raised sections was the place where I did the best thing I've ever done on a BMX. A fairly odd statement to make, but I was genuinely surprised I pulled it, and it capped off an awesome trip. Taliban has the footage, or used to, but I somehow doubt it'll ever see the light of day. Still, that's life.

Apparently Seventies have a bit of room in their warehouses after Xmas, as they've managed to build a pretty nuts looking indoor setup there. Fair bit more to that than there was last time I was there!



In some ways I was glad I missed the NCSL prem so I didn't have to watch myself ride. Unfortunately for Sean Sexton and Darryl Tocco, this video got made. I guess on the flipside, they're actually amazingly good so it shouldn't be quite so much of a hardship...

While I was grabbing the loot from SP, I also spotted that the next section from Brighton Ain't Ready is up - featuring Darryl Tocco, Davey Watson and Mat Roe. Jon Taylor (Namedrop) told me that he thought that Mat Roe hitting that sign thing like a spine (Hammerdrop) was the best thing in B.A.R. Bold claim, but at the same time it's pretty true. I mean, you really need to see that thing, but I have no idea how you'd ever think of doing that, nor be capable of doing it. Just another reason that that dude's so good - incredible control, something a lot of people seem to neglect as they try and +1 their whip or bars count...

Have Kink made a bad video ever? It doesn't really seem like it. This video's no exception - and in case you were wondering, I did some calculations, and that last rail is about 948% steep. So steep you don't even measure it in angles, it's a percentage. That's scientific fact.
