Interesting to see how The Berrics Effect is hitting the BMX world though. I'm into it. Seeing as we're talking Seventies, Bruno Hoffmann is now on Federal having left WTP recently. I just realised I didn't actually mention that before, so apologies if that came as a shock. Some people seem to be super into all that side of things, so sorry for not breaking that to you gently. Hopefully this farewell edit will soothe the pain.

Because I don't exactly have the Pijin Blog Viewer Demographic Data to hand I don't really know how much you people like to read more full-on industry-tech stuff, but if - like me - you do, there's an interesting interview over on Ride US with John Povah about the future for Etnies. I think pretty much everyone who's ridden brakeless and has had to buy a pair of shoes has at some point though about how cool it'd be to have a dual compound brakeless shoe, and considering the amount of rider owned shoe companies out there I'm pretty amazed no-one's actually done it earlier. I guess it's a lot easier to snake Vans than having to come up with some totally new bits 'n' pieces... Anyway, biting aside, some cool stuff on show.

Apparently the world is out to get me today - from the guy complaining about us being parked perfectly legally while he was ironically illegally parked to the person giving me hassle for an item I'm selling online, even down to the guy who got his dog lost down a hole on the face of a cliff next to a pump-track I was riding meaning that I had the constant, off-putting noise of a scared dog whimpering - today's been one of those days.

Fortunately, Cult have re-vamped their website and put some new videos up. Winners! Dakota Roche is ridiculous.



Alex Kennedy also has a new Cult edit up which is equally cool. All about the nollie can - techedy tech! Good to see someone thinking outside the box rather than trying to work out how many E.T.s they can do off something...

Couple of bits 'n' bobs.

Animal have some shiny new cloth... - wait, "cut and sew" items out. Pretty sweet. First time I've ever seen a wallet I've liked?

DSLRs are 'in' these days, especially for filming duties. My boss just bagged himself a 7D and they are nice to see, although pretty much every video I've seen people use them on recently has sort of felt detached from it all. I kinda miss the low-fi, up close look of older videos, maybe... Anyway, from Stoke with love:



Ride have a pretty cool overspill piece up on Tenerife. Randomly, I was checking a customer's address in Tenerife earlier today, and hit up the Street view feature on Google. I was remarking then on how many spots there were on the street our customer lived on, turns out there's plenty more around there. Drop out "The new Barca?" line, perhaps?

Adam posted this Mike Aitken video up earlier, as featured on BMXMDB. Fair bit of content over there now!

Long been a fan of Tom Perry, and he's got a new edit up on Defgrip that's well worth watching, and would've been blogged yesterday had everything after work not been massively rushed...

The gap to wallride at the end of this video has been called out by one or two people in the past, and I've been there when someone's eyed it up previously. It's pretty massive, and I remember at the time sort of hoping they wouldn't do it because that way I wouldn't have to shoot a photo of them killing themselves. Anyway, Jason Phelan is an absolute monster whether it's gaps to wallride or [censored], so it's not too surprising he nailed it. While we're talking of nailing things, Rich Wilson nailed the edit, which is itself 'Very Rich Wilson' in it's style - not that that's a bad thing. Enough talking anyway, check it out. It's my birthday and I'll cry if I want to...

I think I posted up Chase Hawk's prototype signature Cult (Apparently the graphics say 'CVLT', but bearing in mind we've now worked out how to include curves in type-faces I'm still going with 'Cult') frame before, but Adam from TCU just threw up some links to Dakota Roche and Chase Dehart's setups. Not super keen myself, but then again my ideas about frames probably aren't the same as you.

Having lived by South Bank for 3 years, I got pretty used to having a decent under-cover winter spot. Unfortunately, I then moved to Newcastle (pre warehouse setup) where it rained all the time and had no under-cover spot after the death of Get Carter, and now I'm in Mid Wales where it's just rainy and snowy, with no covered over spot. Luckily for Alex Kennedy, he's got a pretty ideal Sainsburys car park to get rad in, which he does in this video. Some pretty cool stuff on the go here:

First up is a video by Miles Rogoish of the Worlds. Can see how it'd be annoying for someone to not wear a helmet after being told, but getting "The Heavies" out to try and lay down the law seems ridiculous. Otherwise, some awesome riding!

Seeeeecondly, this features the best skater snake I've seen in some time, and bearing in mind I live right next to a busy skatepark now, that's saying something. I like to think of that as being part of the justice I still need to hand out to the skaters at a certain concrete skatepark in London. Snaked 4 times riding the bowl once. Do one!

Tom Mann - what a hero.

Much like Tom's bike setup, I'm going reasonably ghetto/old school with this blog post because as a result of a rubbish internet connection, I'm having to make like I did with DISSRM's old blogs and write it all up in Notepad, then copy it over and hope I got all the coding right. Fingers crossed.

So - where to start? Well, maybe with a slew of Mutiny news? First up, the quieter member of the Mutiny team, Brandon "It's pronounced Harris" Hoerres has a new webvid out. It's official, the point at 1:25 is the worst feeling when you ride.

Celebrity rider/photographer/Pijinblog contributor Mike Netley ("Poor man's Rob Castle" according to this month's "Firing Line" column by Dye) has a fresh new bike, which I saw up on Deluxe. Sweet!



Alex Kennedy has gone from someone I hadn't heard of 'til James introduced me to the guy he was doing some "Stay True" tattoo for to BMX styley tweaky superstar with a bunch of people sponsoring him from Fit to Nike. He's also now landed himself some prime coverage in the form of the cover of Ride 126 - and has duly been given an interview up on their site to ask him about the trip, the shoot and so on. In very much related news, the new issue's really good. A definite step up from some stuff recently with some awesome roadtrip articles from both Fit and Federal, and yet more rad Dolecki content (Potentially his last now he's switched teams?) - definitely worth your money in Borders/W.H. Smith's tills. Or indeed Pijin's if you're in Southampton!
