Sticking with the 'A's, Albert Mercado has the nicest style. Even if this was a dedicated filming-missions-galore type video this would be cool, but word on the internet is is that it was filmed during lunchbreaks and general time off work. All good. For Shadow...



Lastly - I'm going to a rally school tomorrow to drive fast sideways. Despite the fact I'm going to be ragging around in a pretty sweet rally-specced car, I'd imagine that I'm still going to be going slower than Gary Young in this edit for Odyssey.

Cool video Friday?

Seems to be.

Kink are operating a strict 'one in one out' team member policy it seems, so out with the old (Lil Jon) and in with the new (Chad Osbourn). Style for miles.



Also, 4Down have released their "Substance #3" video, filmed in Iceland. Cool riding, cool editing, cool filming, cool temperatures.



Staff took all their ridiculously good riders on a bit of a trip. Unsurprising, the riding is really, really good.



Lastly, if you go to China, watch out for those cross-roads, yeah?

But yeah - Ashley Charles has a new video out today that's... unusual. Bit of a weird one, but any footage of him's always good!



In related "Good to see riding from them" video news, Ride posted Aitken's section from the Electronical video today. Seem to remember I posted it up here relatively recently, but still, it's cool...



Also, Sunday put up a new edit from Lee Dennis today. The guy does some cool stuff, so as you'd expect this is a pretty good video.



Lastly, Banned 3 was ridiculous, and from this section of Banned 4 that video is nuts too. I basically got to the end of Rickey Bates' section and realised it needed to be put up here, and so... er... here it is.

Context.

I'm typing this seated on a brand new office chair, sitting at a desk with my laptop, a proper mouse and mouse-mat, a digital typewriter, an external hard-drive, a massive dead moth that's staring at me and some turbo strength cold/flu medicine. Just thought I'd set that scene for you. Feels pretty pro...

Speaking of pro - the Rail Jam at Interbike is potentially the only real thing I'm going to post from Interbike in so much as it was the only thing that actually involved riding, and I'm very much more interested in that rather than more unimaginative parts. Some of the lines people do in this are about a million % more original and innovative than almost every part shown at Interbike this year. Vital had this video up - I don't want to put any spoilers, but damn... I really want to say how awesome it was to see some of the moves in there.



Speaking of things that are awesome - any Erik Elstran footage is good, and this video for The Set is no different. I'm keen on anything that's pretty much done purely to wind up people who deserve to be wound up, so if you find yourself recoiling in horror and heading over to TheComeUp to cry about the double 'giver' in this video, then you and I probably wouldn't get along.



In total contrast to that, most Etnies edits seem to be produced to try and appeal to as many people as possible and offend as few people as possible, and this video's not really much of an exception. That being said, there's some cool stuff in there.



Cult apparently had a promo they made to play at Interbike, so it should be cool seeing that when it drops for us 'normies' who didn't go to the Worst Place In The World just to look at some bicycle parts and watch Garrett Reynolds do a fakie nozzer down a ledge (Spoiler!), but The Trip have already put their promo video up. Pretty much a remix of their sweet 35min long 'promo' video from before, but still, worth watching:



Speaking of promos, I can't remember if I put this up before, and checking requires extensive clicking and looking so I'm not going to do that, but hopefully I didn't... Eclat's team is "Stacked" as they'd probably say on ESPN, and for good reason.

Tweak!

One of the things I like seeing most in videos is people going really fast over hips and doing those little tweaks. I don't know what it is about them, but they're awesome, and there's one to demonstrate in this Bicycle Union video. Lots of other rad riding too, give it a peep.



I don't really know much about the LeastMost apart from 3 things: They're now in BMXFeed, the term "Shreditorial" made me cringe so hard I almost inverted my face, and they have a Van Homan interview on their site with this accompanying Props Bio.



There have been more rumours of indoor parks near or in Southampton than the number of flat tyres I got last year. However, this one looks a little more serious - click over to Ride's site for the info! £1.4m...

Apparently Ashley Charles is off WTP. Didn't see that coming!

Unrelated (obviously), but Defgrip have a 'Best of 2009' feature up. Bearing in mind Defgrip is good anyway, you know their 'best of' is going to be good. Click here for part 1, and here for part 2. The Empire photogallery is a good one, and the Tunnel Jam gallery was one I hadn't seen before but was pretty sweet!

Webvid Day?

So, couple of videos up today. First off, Dakota Roche has banged out an edit at a park in the US of A for Cult. In related news, turns out the Cult 'zine is still going, which rules!



Ashley Charles quite often seems to get overlooked by people as he's not a big, in your face sponsored pro dude, but he's still ridiculously good. I mean, just watch this video. Winner. This was for Eclat.



UK street, aw yeah. This is a 'To Flat' edit from the P5/Dub street jam in London (although technically Scotty D doesn't really go 'to flat' on that ledge ride...), which features an ender that was featured as an ender for the old Carhartt jam from years ago. Still a ridiculous trick though, you really have to go there to get an idea of how gigantic that set is, and how bad the run-out is.



Put up a part from a video called 'Gotta Blast' a few days ago - turns out it was an old Shook video. Here's a few more bits from it:

As a Christmas bonus, Ride UK have put up their awesome video No Front Teeth. The video shows it's age a bit in terms of how ridiculously young certain people in there look, the tricks being done and bike setups in general, but it's still amazing and well worth a watch. I used to watch it pretty much every day when I first got hold of it, and some sections on it are still my favourites out of any DVD.

I ain't scared. Esc's been in the pipeline for time. Now, finally, the content's about 90% sorted, the lay-out's pretty much sorted and it's gonna be go time once I've moved Oop North. Stay tuned to the blog, or, if you've got no soul, the Tweets. Totally worth it.

Saw this on a trials site this morning, then found out it'd already made it onto TCU. Gutted, haha. Anyway, still well worth watching. It's not BMX, but there's still a hell of a lot of skill (and balls) involved in doing some of this stuff, and it certainly makes you look at spots differently.



Ashley Charles is sunning himself in LA at the moment, and he scored a bikecheck up on Ride. There's also the second part of the rad Framed series on ESPN from WTP which talks about a good few of the products you can see on Ashley's bike.

My friend/Your friend/Our friend/Everybody's friend James Smith has taken time out from his hectic S43 updating and porn watching schedule to create a new clothing line, 1 of 50. All the T's are hand screen-printed at James' house (Parents must be pleased), and feature original designs. First person to say that the South Bank T isn't an "Original design" because it features logos made by South Bank gets a "Stop being so pedantic" and "Haven't you ever heard of postmodernism?" double-hit combo. While we're talking clothing - Streetphire have an interview up with Ian Gunner, owner of Segment. It features a better insight into the company than any other interview I've seen, even if I don't particularly agree with the following quote, regarding T-shirt and hoodie price:

I think the £20 and £40 tags are a reasonable price, as they dont ask too much for the product, yet they allow me to sell to retailers, and offer a good margin. Stores can buy my product at a trade price and still make over 100% margin and sell them at 20 and 40, that is always a key point in pricing every item [tee, hood, hat etc].

I still don't really get the whole "Shops must have a 100% margin" aspect, and I don't really understand why it's gotta be that a standard T-shirt with a relatively basic design on it should cost £20, but maybe that's why I'm not a giant clothing mogul or anything like that. BMX is a large part of my life, and in some ways I'd like to help companies out by buying their products and supporting the cause, but when it's £20 for a t-shirt it makes life a little hard. No VAT reduction either, tsk tsk... Either way, read it for yourselves and make your own minds up I guess.
