As a result of them often having to use 'legit' music for videos, there were often times on Vital where the song selections would be pretty whack, and in time I just grew to associate Vital with cool riding videos with bad music. Fortunately, this one's better! Features some cool riding under blue, sunny skies, which makes me furiously envious.
I keep forgetting the tags, I'm a bad person. You may also note that this is the first time I haven't posted during the am period of the day - I'm reforming!

My friend/Your friend/Our friend/Everybody's friend James Smith has taken time out from his hectic S43 updating and porn watching schedule to create a new clothing line, 1 of 50. All the T's are hand screen-printed at James' house (Parents must be pleased), and feature original designs. First person to say that the South Bank T isn't an "Original design" because it features logos made by South Bank gets a "Stop being so pedantic" and "Haven't you ever heard of postmodernism?" double-hit combo. While we're talking clothing - Streetphire have an interview up with Ian Gunner, owner of Segment. It features a better insight into the company than any other interview I've seen, even if I don't particularly agree with the following quote, regarding T-shirt and hoodie price:
I think the £20 and £40 tags are a reasonable price, as they dont ask too much for the product, yet they allow me to sell to retailers, and offer a good margin. Stores can buy my product at a trade price and still make over 100% margin and sell them at 20 and 40, that is always a key point in pricing every item [tee, hood, hat etc].
I still don't really get the whole "Shops must have a 100% margin" aspect, and I don't really understand why it's gotta be that a standard T-shirt with a relatively basic design on it should cost £20, but maybe that's why I'm not a giant clothing mogul or anything like that. BMX is a large part of my life, and in some ways I'd like to help companies out by buying their products and supporting the cause, but when it's £20 for a t-shirt it makes life a little hard. No VAT reduction either, tsk tsk... Either way, read it for yourselves and make your own minds up I guess.

In other "New Product News" - Odyssey are capitalising on the keen interest in Chase Hawk's bikecheck (Oh wait, that was 8 months ago...) and have released the hard anodised red Hazard Lites to the general public. Head over to their site to check 'em out, their new Flash widgets kill this blog. Might want to put the kettle on to boil and make a tea/coffee while you're waiting for their site to load, too...
Apparently, the Duffs 4130 shoe is "Iconic", or so I'm told. Personally, the only recollection of it I have was thinking they weren't all that nice, and that was it, but hey - that's me. Regardless, the new 4130 Low is out in plenty of Nike 6.0 biting colourways, so check out TK Maxx in about 3 months and grab yourself a bargain in their shoe section.
Mike Aitken continues to progress, this time literally in leaps and bounds, jumping up onto an 8" high ledge with both feet. Considering the trouble he was/is having with movement on his right side, that's pretty amazing. Plenty of other updates on Mike Aitken.com too.
If I could embed audio on this blog, I'd probably get Hman to say "Subrosa" just 'cos it cracks me up, and also fits in to this next piece: Subrosa's new grips, frames and forks are now in the UK, according to an e-mail I got earlier. The Alameda, Rich Hirsch's signature frame, looks pretty damn sweet, although the seat-tube doesn't look as kinked as it used to? Might just be my eyes. Head over to their site and check out the pics on their - you can zoom in and pan around them to your heart's content, which is pretty cool, and certainly beats squinting at tiny 'detail' photos...
According to this video, Joel made it up to London and it wasn't raining, which suggest to me Joel's CGI skills are pretty godly. When did that happen?!
