Two people who I've both seen do awesome things in person as a result of P5.

Firstly, if you've ever been to a P5 jam you will have seen Mole do something outrageous. The guy's too good.



Secondly, Bertie Buck is a guy I've known as a friend-of-a-friend for a while, although I did get to ride with him for a couple of P5 jams too. Another guy doing things his own way, but with a totally different style.



Didn't realise he was on Stolen either, but that's cool!

Coincidence...

I was thinking a night or two ago how I hadn't seen Charlie Don't Surf for ages, and contemplated banging it in my DVD player until I decided that I didn't really want to watch it at that particularly point purely because of how much I want to move back to Newcastle every time I see it... Anyways, here's the first couple of sections from it. The video builds up really well, so stay tuned for the last couple of sections. Most definitely worth it.





Mentioned the Berrics inspired 'text in' thing that Ride are running - I haven't watched these because I'm in a bit of a rush and really have better things to do right now, but they might be entertaining. The Berrics version usually is, mainly due to the editing of them, so I guess these might be...





I would very much like to ride the spot in the first section of this video.

Lastly, Chicken rules. Anyone who's been to a P5 jam will know this, but still - he's amazing.



Actually, that wasn't lastly - I mentioned last week (I think?) about Mutiny getting Rich Wilson to do an edit for them. Turns out that edit was of Safe Nath, who appears to not be scared of going fast, and have a good rollback and toboggan. All good!

Tumbleweed...

Man, nothing has really happened in the BMX world. Ben Green is now TM for Coalition, but that doesn't really change much and... well... aside from the start of this sentence doesn't really constitute 'content'. Drew Bezanson has an edit up, but after re-watching the WTP "Partners In Crime" part it's just... I don't know, not the same I guess.



While we're talking indoor parks, because they often do rad stuff, I decided to watch Profile's park edit with Jeff Klugiewicz and Grant Castelluzo. It's a lot better than nothing:

Next up, an edit from Focalpoint of Jase Bannan that features a lot of weather I'd be pretty into right now. This weekend was blue skies and sunny, but when it's sub-zero it's still got a fair way to go...

I was going to track down the DIC "I made this" jingle on Youtube so I could put it up before linking you to the P5 jam write-up I did on Streetphire, but, well... too late, I guess? Photos are poor 'cos I just took a camera up with me, no lights and fancy gizmos. Blag it.



Lurking TheComeUp, I happened to catch a glimpse of the Brad Simms interview, and the accompanying New York webvideo that I hadn't seen first time round. Well, it's late, but it's amazing:

Speaking of webvideos - last time I saw, Micky Marshall was on FBM, but apparently isn't any more. Que? This is his Orchid webvid anyway.



It features that turndown gap too. The weird curved wallride setup near the start also reminded me that some builders make amazing stuff, reaffirming my belief that quality street (tasty sweets) can exist having just ridden the damp, drizzly wasteland that is Preston.

I need to go and play pool now, so as a 'final thought', I'll end with this - why try and make a chain stronger if it's fundamentally flawed (if you want the strongest chain possible, I wouldn't imagine it'd be composed of half-links)? Weird... Come back to me when you've got the real chain version of this and we'll talk, eh?

Well, after some 'exclusive content' (if that's what people still call it!), need to revert back to some reposted stuff. There appear to be a range of cool videos out today, which is all good.

Firstly, the Levis team mix. It's obviously going to be good, but damn, Jamie Bestwick is beyond amazing.

Kevin Kiraly generally produces some pretty amazing videos, and this one's pretty sweet even though it is purely park (boo, hiss). The brakeless flip to manny - taking it back to the old school Owain Clegg steez?



Another person it's always cool to see ride is Hoang Tran (That San Diego edit with the remix of Born To Be Wild on is too good!), so it was cool to see this pop up on my feed today, over on Odyssey's site.



In non-video news, the P5 jam at Newcastle went down this weekend - the setup was insane, and the riding was pretty nutso too. Every time I see Niki Croft ride it makes me want to ride better. The dude's amazing. Here's a little teaser anyway, more pics up on Streetphire asap!

If you're thinking to yourself "Hot damn, that looks sweet!" - you have the chance to get involved in one. THIS SUNDAY at 12pm meeting at mini Lloyds (aka Norwich Union hip) at Bristol, P5 are holding a jam. Seriously - this isn't even a case of "Be there or be square", it's a case of "Be there and have an awesome time or be... well, don't." Not quite as catchy, but it gets the point across.

Another day, another Dry Spell section - Pete Greaves this time, in a section of the video he edited himself. Big 'n' tall!

Seeing frames like this makes me want a nice, high quality, hand-made frame with a sweet clear-coat over it. I mean, just look at it. Awesome.

While we're talking FBM, Tom Blyth has some cool blog posts up. Few and far between, but interesting nonetheless.
Duffs (Or is that "DuFFS™"?) have their autumn/winter line up. Goes without saying that some are far, far nicer than others - make your own mind up!

Photobucket is officially the worst online image sharing site around. There, I said it. As a result of it's feeble layout, I can't post the actual flyer, but I can tell you that the next P5 jam is going to be at BRISTOL on the 6th September. Be there or be square!

The last few days...

Well, as a result of the Tim Lewis Live Text Update service I was getting I had a rough idea about the whole Ride to Glory gig, but a H-Man (Namedrop!) call on the way back from Leeds confirmed that WTP won this year. Good stuff. Go here for the legit coverage. Heard some interesting Jim C./Ben Hennon stuff, haha.

Anyways, as I mentioned, I was in Leeds for the Charles Prow "King For A Day" jam. Good times were had, and I think it was a great tribute to Charles. I put up some 'proper' words on the subject (and some photos) up here.

The day before, I ate a piece of fish that was as long as my forearm. All fish, right the way up the batter. Bangin'! I know, I know, I put it on my blog too, but it's a remarkable piece of food!



On the same weekend, P5 re-assessed whether Brighton Was Ready and held another jam. Ollie from Streetphire put this little edit together of the day.
