Week off work = fan-frickin'-tastic this late on a Sunday night. Lie-in tomorrow! Get in!

Anyways, I saw this on some other websites before but in that I trust Mark Noble's opinion on things I thought I'd give it a watch seeing as he'd put it up on Deluxe. To partially quote Family Guy: "Hefty hefty heeeeefty!"



This is yet another BLVDLIGHTS edit - I don't really know who they are or much about them apart from this was made by Talem Cowart (hopefully?). Dude's got an interesting style anyway...



Lastly, this was apparently filmed in 3 days. Can certainly see the "Used to be a trials rider" side of things, but that's not the end of the world really. Nozzer to bars is serious whichever way you cut it.

Yeah yeah, I know a lot of you don't like football, but damn - from yesterday's semi between the Netherlands and Uruguay. Top corner? You betcha.



Speaking of "top corner", if the spots in this video had to be described in a footballing analogy, I'd classify them as pretty top corner too. Van Homan and Scotty Cranmer doing things for Duo, which I spotted on the G-Sport site (which still has that awesome edit up from yesterday).



In that I don't really think that entirely copying a block of text a writer has created and then poaching the video too (in much the same way that if I did a website purely devoted to scanning pages of Dig and putting them online I'd imagine it'd ruffle a few feathers), I'm just going to link to the ESPN site where you can check out Tunney's write-up and Larry Rhodes' video yourself. It's Big Daddy - why wouldn't you (Answer: Because it was up a few days ago and I didn't spot it first time round, but you've already seen it)?

Gary Young is rad, as are the Tuesdays with Miles videos. Combo.



Lastly - the 2011 Deluxe Tech 2 frames are now in the UK, in a warehouse not too far from the shop as it happens. Deluxe do some good stuff, and if you're after a shiny new trails frame then you'd have to be somewhat of a tool not to check the Tech 2 out.

I remember seeing a clip of Chase Hawk doing a 360 to manual on the T-1 ramp in You Get What You Get (You need to see this vid if you haven't) and thinking it was amazing, turns out he's got them awesome and indeed brakeless according to this new video from Nuno.



Saw this video over on Deluxe, and it's amazing! Haven't seen anything like it before, looks like such a fun session. Top marks to those who put spade to dirt to make them.



Seventies have a cool 'team' video up where they show some of the shoots for their new catalogues 'n' stuff - some old footage that people won't have seen yet, and some more recent stuff. Fun fact - when Niki does the whip on the bank to 180 off, then high fives a Shelter worker, he got her number. Seeing Niki work his magic on her was amazing, like putty in his hand.



Saw this on the Fly site when I was looking for the not particularly interesting video of Kevin Porter putting a tube on his bike, but got reminded about it by TCU - here's a bikecheck with Stefan Lantschner, featuring a frame I was nearly going to buy tomorrow. So near, yet so far. In related news, see all you Southampton dudes tomorrow!

First off, two videos I watched last night - ordered Attention Stalybridge and The Wythenshawe Waltz from Clarky a few days ago and got to watch them yesterday, back to back. Quality videos, really made me want to ride! Pity I live in the middle of nowhere, and it was raining...

Anyway, in complete contrast to those videos, here's a Demolition web-edit of Scott Hamlin:



If you go to the Ride site you can check out some photos too, and a Demolition banner that they must've paid some goooood money to have up there. The latest development in the online advertising/webvideo vs. print advertising/DVD war? Heard about this kicking off a while back, was waiting to see it drop... (As a little caveat, I've been out of the BMX internet loop for a while now so if it's already been used a bunch before... well, there we are.)

In non-video news, in my brief hiatus from the BMX world, I'd sort of forgotten how incredibly ridiculous the internet BMX drama scene is. From people involved with magazines making unintentionally (but brutally) ironic statements to people fabricating 'issues' with other riders, it's something I'd not missed. This video was up on TCU, where the video was followed by 'I foresee this getting a lot of negative comments' - it just makes you wonder what people really have going on with their lives if they've got time for stuff like that... Anyway, this video's got some pretty rad riding in it. Yes, it's goof, and yes, it's not filmed that well, but the video's still pretty sweet.



Lastly, 'cos I'm going to be late for dropping the kids off at the pool if I hang around much longer, FBM have some new products that you can view by clicking on that there link...

History repeating?

I sincerely hope not. Please tell me the cringe-worthy scripts that used to plague BMX videos (I'm looking at you, Glenn P.P. Milligan - although notable mention goes to Dave Mirra in Sentenced To Life) aren't making a comeback? This Road Fools trailer would've worked pretty much with the opening clip of Big Daddy, that gigantic wallride, and Tony Hamlin chainsawing Nathan Williams' pedal...

I saw this link floating around some other BMX sites, but then I saw it pop up Deluxe so I assumed it'd be worth the watch. Sure was. Flip-whip crashes look scaaaaary.

Intermittent wireless connections are pretty much the worst. I've been trying to do this for about 5 minutes, and I've typed one and a bit sentences. Patience tester!

Anyway, Frenchys have put up a video from Day 1 of their tour. Got some good riding in this, and Randy Taylor doing a flair to kneejam?

Deluxe posted up this video today of Tomas Kudrnac. Metallica in a web-video? Damn straight!



TCU posted up these photos of some new Madera and Profile parts. Now, that seatclamp 'finish' (For want of a better word) is sweet, but it's just another example of a bikepart that looks awesome, but I can't see how it'd look good on a bike? I guess it is only a seat-clamp...





I made a post a day or two ago in which I made a joke about Fit/S&M/Rob-o/Moeller. It was purely based around the often crazy rumours (The highlight being one involving a grandmother taking Robbie Morales to court?!) that are flying around messageboards and forums around the net, and wasn't intended as anything malicious or offensive. If anyone felt put out by it, then I apologise for that, but it certainly wasn't meant in that way.

It's been a while...

Can't wait to see the viewing slump for the past few days! Come baaaack. I've legitimately been busy - uni work over the weekend, then two days in London handing it in. 96 hours. 7 hours on trains. 16 hours of sleep. Too many hours on trains: not enough hours asleep. As a result, I'm finding this typing gig pretty hard, and actually had to use calculator to work out how many hours there were in 4 days.

Anyway, from what I can tell:

They Ain't Ready put up a web-edit which was basically a 3 minute intro to a ridiculous Kareem Williams spot shut-down edit. However, they've done the whole "Not going to let you embed it unless you go to Vimeo and mess around" thing, and I fully don't have the mental capability to tackle that problem now. I don't see how people think doing this benefits them at all. The whole point of web-videos is their ease of distribution - showing the world what's up with you and your friends. If you don't want other people to see it, don't put it online. If you do, why put petty little hurdles in the way for people to distribute it? No sense at all.

FBM have a double-DVD kinda thing coming out from what I can tell, here's a trailer!

There's a UK premiere for the Mutiny video that, amazingly for a UK premiere, is actually reasonably central instead of in a pub in Hastings. Again. Anyway, it's on in Sheffield:



You should probably try and get there, it's bound to be good and premieres are always amazing! Nothing like getting the DVD a while after going to the premiere so you can try and remember what actually happened in it...

Cardinel have posted up a video about how to put a wheel into their bike. Pretty straight-forward, but I'm fully not convinced by vertical dropouts in BMX.



Defgrip have posted a pretty swish series of photos from the newest Nike 6.0 ad campaign. Worth taking a look at: Click!

Lastly, Ricky Adam has developed a different take on how to transport his camera gear around. Can fully sympathise with him - carrying my setup around on my back's no fun, and Ricky uses some bigger battery packs than I do. No thanks! Anyway, he's got a bikecheck up on Dig - go here to see that.

DansComp have a new site up, Dans360 - on it, they have bios for their (loose term) 'Team', including Nathan Williams, who has a photo of his bike. He calls his frame the "United Mothership" - signature frame ahoy!

Long-video-tastic

Well, due to Carlos feeling a little fragile today, P2 work's hit the buffers so I've decided to use Joel's net connection to hit up the Blog, and on a reasonable day too - full length videos from Derelict, Carhartt and... well... that's it, but that's pretty much an entire hour of BMX which should really be enough. Oh, there was a Sunday video too that felt like a feature film even though it wasn't, but that was more 'cos I just didn't really want to watch it anyway...

Secondly, the Carhartt Gran Canaria vid (Features Stefan Lanstcher, Bruno Hoffmann, Owain Clegg and some other people who were reasonably forgetable. I don't think I've seen a bad Stefan L or Bruno H part, and although this video dragged at times, there's still some awesome riding.

George Marshall

George Marshall is one of the best photographers out there at the moment, getting some rad photos with his ol' Hasselblad combining awesome composition with great atmosphere. Basically, they're really good. Deluxe have decided to feature him as one of their 'case study' sorta deals with photographers, so click here to check that out, and then go here for his personal site.

Oh Dear #1

Del-nonfashiontrailscompany-uxe are releasing a seat/post combo. Got on issue with that, just seems very strange coming from Deluxe, of all companies, bearing in mind phrases like "No bonkers bells and whistles which will be out of fashion in two weeks' time" appearing on their site.

What do the following all have in common with this post?

G-Sport's casse-"Ratchet" hub only being available in 36H for the first batch (That's right - a rear wheel, in 36h...).

S&M releasing - for a time - the lightest frame available (After ripping 'trendy' riders for buying fashionable products).

Odyssey having Sunday using their manufacturing processes, their design team - look at the pics of G's early frames, and an original Sunday frame - and so on (Odyssey: "We aren't a frame company").

Standard releasing a S.T.A. (That's Stronger Than All, for those unable to work out acronyms) that weighs less than 4.5lbs.
