Hello again.
Yeah, been a while. This weekend was full of riding, fun times and general merriment, none of which involved online things, so not much blog activitititititity.
A quick look at the BMX fashion forecast: Headbands are still in, and ETs are most definitely on their way in. Couple cut-off skinny jeans, a headband and an ET and you're set for this summer's look. Unrelated to that but related to the video - I've been so tempted to grab a hang-5er's rear peg before, but I knew that would happen. I'm too nice.
Tim tells me I've been overly harsh recently, so I'll try and tone it down.
Anyways, Luke Peeters (With 3 E's) is now on United, as is Boiski. However, Boiski didn't get a 'Welcome to the Team' edit - favouritism!
Apparently they have bios and stuff on the United site, but I didn't really care enough to find out. I'm sure 90% of the Internet's word is true enough.
Shadow have some new clothing out, go check it on their site in some flip-book somewhere (They're still not good - even Russ agrees!).
FBM inform me that Mickey Marshall is no longer riding for them, they have a new Exodus prototype (Ironically named - fair play for that!), and that people around the world are still willing to put the time in to make awesome birthday cakes:
For those of you who can't imagine what a crinkly tube looks like inside (Kinda like the outside, but inside), Sunday have the answer!
Shola have some proto fork photos up (In conjunction with Brucey/KHE? Who knows) - that logo's dangerously close to the edge of the bottom of the steerer tube bit? (Tech term.)
Dig have been utterly pounding the Facebook News Feed today, which happened to include this gem - the Tom Blyth Sturdy Wrists. Old Dig is rad, film is rad, Tom B is rad. Rad^3!
Dennis Enarson has a Day In The Life Of video up somewhere, but I have almost no idea where I watched it or even what player it was on. All I can remember is he lives pretty close to the Mexican border, enjoys eating Mexican food, had a shoulder surgery the day after the riding was filmed, and looks exactly like both of his parents. I suppose in a way that's all you need to know?
On my 'Quick last check!' BMX news scour, happened to stumble upon this video of Mark Mulville - always a pleasure, never a chore.

Chase/Ruben/Joe/Garrett/Trails/Awesomeness

Seriously, watch watch watch! This video is awesome. Chase Hawk is too good, and Ruben's the boy. Bonus G. Byrnes footage too. But yeah, slow-mo, well-ridden trails is always a treat. Probably has the best 'riding trails' vibe out of any video I've seen recently, can sorta get a sense for what it'd be like especially seeing Chase pumping through it in ultra slow-mo. Those twists too, hot damn. That 3 one foot can was sweeeet. WATCH THIS VIDEO. I'm pretty sure this was filmed and edited by Joe Rich, so massive tip of the hat to him 'cos the whole Andalucia series has been awesome. Click the 'Fox' tag below to check the rest out.
Vans Let It Ride - pure drama?
Saw this up on Ride, where apparently someone disagreed with Ride saying they "Quite rightly" had posted it first, whereas Streetphire and Seventies had done it first? I knew this whole "More exclusive than thou" thing would probably go in this direction, and as I've said before, what's "Exclusive" about posting something first that's easily embeddable elsewhere? You Ctrl+C/Ctrl+V'd it before someone else? Who honestly cares? Being able to copy and paste it is nothing compared to the effort required to actually make it, so why not give credit where credit's due and congratulate the people out there making the content instead of everyone patting themselves on the back for being able to get the blog posts up first? Yet another case of the BMX media industry giving itself precedence over the photographers and filmers who generate the content that means that they can exist themselves. How incredibly surprising.
In case you were wondering, yes, I'm in a bad mood.
Anyway, here's the Let It Ride video. Ashley Charles messed his arm up before going on this trip, meaning that the only people left in it are people I don't really want to invest 5 minutes of my life watching ride right now. Some of you might, so again, get amongst it.

Noooo waaaay!
Nooo waaay! You know that Subrosa advert with Greg Smee hopping over a line of bikes off a kicker? They made that advert happen by making a kicker, lining up some bikes, Greg Smee jumping over it, taking the bikes away and dismantling the kicker! That's incredible, and certainly not how I thought it would work! I mean, I didn't think for a second that to shoot a photo of someone jumping over a line of bikes, you'd have to set up a line of bikes, then get someone to jump over them! I'm so glad that Subrosa took the time out of their schedule to edit this video to show us how it was made.

One last thing....
Just spotted this on Bikeguide - a boat trip by the Italian Nike riders (So, essentially, Stefan Lantschner and 2 dudes you probably haven't heard of). It's a full-on video production, and in all honesty it's not really 'BMXy', so to speak, but there's some amazing looking spots/scenery in there, some cool tricks, and Stefan Frickin' Lantschner, so that's all good. It also features Stefan racing his motocross bike, which he rides pretty similarly to how he rides his BMX. It's gotta feel slow as hell getting on a BMX after a motox bike, but you can't have it all.

Spotted this little video over on InTheGnar, but a quick interwebs search shows that it's been on virtually every BMX media site. PijinBlog - delivering you the best BMX stuff on the web just after you've seen it before.
Wore my Shitluck T today for the first time in forever, and it just so happens that a Shitluck put a webvid out today. For one horrifying moment I thought Cameron Wood had done a hang 5 in this video, but then realised it wasn't him and he got elevated back to being in my Top 5 Favourite Riders list...
It seems the more I ride, the shorter my attention span gets for web videos. I mean, apart from that Shitluck vid I've been struggling to really pay much attention to a lot of videos I've tried watching today, which is why - in the interest of honesty - I haven't even bothered looking at this video yet. I don't usually like to post videos I haven't watched because, unlike some BMX blogging types, I only want to post stuff I'm into. This blog is representing the best BMX shop in the UK, so I'd like to make sure the stuff I put on here is the best too. Anyway, without further ado, the 17 minute long "Re-Session Tour" video. Like I said - didn't watch it, but I can't really imagine it'd be that bad, so if you've got some time to kill, get amongst it! I've got pictures of Profile products to cut out in Photoshop, so I'm outta here! (You'll get 'em tomorrow, Carlos!)

History and comedy.
The song used in this edit was one used for an old Dig (Which was where I saw this vid first!) ad in something like Props 50 - love the bassline in it, aaaaall good. If anyone knows the name of the song, comment away!
I'm aware that the Nike6.0 blog is written in a Xtreme Marketing Friendly™ manner that's supposed to Engage With The Target Audience, and that therefore it's going to sound a bit more "YEAH GNAR DUDE!" than is really necessary, but saying stuff like "Europe is known for culture, sophistication and decorum. Thanks to the Nike 6.0 BMX team, it's now known as a place to drop hammers and do work on two wheels." seems a bit rich. Nothing quite like completely devalueing part of your market by pretty much denying it's existence, or indeed ability and impact on their chosen sport? It's not like there's been no awesome riders from Europe? AAAAnyway, they're also doing some "Beat Gas" (Which I usually do by trying to not move around too much, and to not sit at an awkward angle or anything, then let it out in one big go) thing that Mr. Bighouse (When it's translated to English from French, anyway) noted earlier.
It's a pretty good endeavour I suppose, but I don't quite get why they're aiming the "Ride your bike around the city!" message at people who do ride their bikes "around the city" anyway. Ah well, maybe one day marketing and ad hype will begin to make sense?
