Remember I was saying how consistent Duncan Lloyd was with manny-180s? Jynxed... Sorry dude! Hope you get well soon.
In related "Get well soon" action, Van Homan took one to the head at X-Games and had to spend some time in the ICU. Not cool. Speaking of "Not cool" and the X-Games, ESPN have created literally the worst BMX-related headline I've ever seen. The increasing usage of just rider's surnames to refer to them on internet news sites has been kinda irking me for a bit (it's not like football...), so trying to get it all even more "Pro sports writer" just makes it worse. I can't even bring myself to type the title out here, so click here to see it. I'm a little disappointed I'm giving them more views by linking to it, but it's just that bad that that doesn't matter...
While I'm at it, you need to check out this video of "Li'l Stevie". The last truck's so massive it's actually a juggernaut (Snaking ESPN on that joke there, boom.).

Keep it like a secret...
So yeah - last weekend was a banger, many thanks to Nike 6.0 and all the locals! Photos up soon...
X-Games is over - Garrett Reynolds won Street, Daniel Dhers won Park and Jamie Bestwick won Vert. Winners.
This is out of hand:
Scotty Cranmer is pretty good, as this video on FFWD shows.
Lastly - Almond have a new 'look book' (Or "Website" as they used to be known) to show off their new stuff. Some of their formatting is not so hot, but hey ho - some cool stuff in there anyway. Cue all the classic "That's just a Chukka!" or "That's just a TNT 2 Mid!" comments.

Precision!
Jeez, this ender's pretty damn precise! Doing those brakeless is literally all good.
First person to do one on a backrail on a quarter wins life.
Jason Owens, aka "That dude from Safety First", has a pretty cool webvid up on the Kink site.
In total contrast, X-Games is going on at the moment. Gary Young won the prelims/eliminator/whatever the hell the thing is that isn't the final of the Park comp. Haven't really seen/heard who's done what else over there, and until I see the highlights video I'm not that fussed...
Those two vids are from ESPN and Ride US. If you want to see Tunney do some sports writing, click here. Would've been fairly unimaginable about 5-6 years ago...
Lastly - Mat Hoffman is rad. This video contains Mat Hoffman and is also therefore rad.

Riding for silver...
Seriously, everyone else really is riding for silver. Garrett Reynolds, gold #7 in X-Games Street. Whaaaaat?

Diversity.
So, the X-Games are in full swing. Check out Ride US's street qualifying video here, purely so you can see what some riders did and still didn't qualify, and also to see Garrett Reynolds do everything that everyone else did, but with either an additional 180° of spin, or with one more barspin (Or both).
They've got a park vid up too, but the music's utterly terrible, and it's the typical X-Games park routine, despite having an amazing course.
What isn't a terrible video though is the Let's Get Mystical trailer by Mutiny. Go here to read up about it. Sounds like it should be a pretty sweet video, and because they're hyping it at the end of it's production life it means less waiting too!
Now on Vimeo:
In complete contrast to that Mutiny trailer, here's a different video...
EDIT - Which fully doesn't work?!
I shot a few photos of Scott Taylor yesterday for a bikecheck + riding photos thing for the Federal site. Click here to see his bike, and some surprisingly high tricks considering how hard those things are to ride...

Theft.
Not only did I steal Dino's soul, but I'm also stealing some content from Ride US! First up is their 6th Range Of Motion video. One of the best things about roadtrips is messing people around when they're asleep. It literally never gets old, and even if you're the butt of the joke, you know it's only a matter of time 'til someone succumbs and you can get vicious revenge...
Secondly, X-Games (Or "X-Gaymes" to be message-board-fashionable) - practise makes perfect!

Miscellaneous contents.
Kink's UK rider Ben Basford put this sweet edit up yesterday. Sweet riding spots ahoy!
Dan Conway is the star of this cool little edit - definitely worth checking out.
Michael Sieben's work is (not quite) literally everywhere, and in this video he talks a bit more about what he's up to. Interesting dude, sweet art = winners.
Bruno Hoffmann + Tyreslide up on Woozy - sweet pic!
Garrett and Nigel at X-Games/Shanghai from six0crew on Vimeo.
It's weird - when I first started buying (Well, reading, 'cos I used to tax them off Dan) BMX magazines years and years ago, whenever there was talk of the X-Games they were generally seen as this big, awful corporate affair. It's was generally in a fairly negative light, and they were definitely considered the riding choice for those who were more interested in chasing the American pro park rat lifestyle rather than so-called 'legit' riders. Interesting how that's turned round these days - for the most part. Pretty cool video of Nigel and Garrett either way!
