REMEMBERING MATTHEW ''MUTE'' PARKER

I heard about "crazy Matt" being a Southampton legend about 9 years ago when I started riding.
I also was lucky enough to go on my first trip out of England with Matt and a bunch of other guys when I was 16 and it was a trip that I wont forget!
The dude was loose (in a good way) when it came to BMX but he without a doubt was passionate, polite, nice guy that loved his bike and his friends and always had a positive attitude even if things weren't looking that great. He sure knew how to smile.
I was shocked when I heard the horrible news... And gutted that I lost touch with him in the past couple of years.

Rest in peace mate

Today we’ve learned the sad news that our close friend Mute has passed away after a Kayaking accident. Mute was an inspirational character in the UK BMX scene, putting on various street jams all over the country for many years. He did positive work in the community at large, inspiring young people to follow their dreams and supporting them along the way. Mute, you will be greatly missed by so many.

As the warm days of this past summer wind down, members of the Fly team visit the birth place of Fly Bikes itself, Vigo Spain for its annual “Marisquiño contest”, and although hanging out and seeing old friends is always fun, enjoying the many untapped street spots that Vigo has to offer is the real reason the crew’s in town. With an extra week, Kevin Kalkoff, Stefan Lantschner, Courage Adams and Rubén Rodriguez make good use of their limited time, and when they’ve had their fill of Vigo they head North and spend they’re remaining few days shredding the streets of San Sebastian.

360 No Handers On Getting Awesome

In this episode of Getting Awesome, Ryan Nyquist and Seth Klinger explain how to throw down 360 no handers! Seth kicks things off with the tuck 360. Next up Ryan shows off the 360 suicide no hander. The key here is to tap the front brakes just off the takeoff and trust the front bars won't move while you throw those hands out! Volume Bikes: Volume In California Trip.

To kick off the new year right we decided drop some heat on ya from damn near the entire team! Back in November we loaded the van to the brim, stuffed our belongings in the U-Haul and headed North in search of some of of the best spots in California. Stops include Santa Barbara, Santa Maria, Nipomo, San Luis Obispo, Fresno, San Jose, and San Fransisco...as well as some home turf gems in the mix. With the exception of SF, you could say we weren't exactly staying on the beatin' path...and that's exactly how we like it. I'm really excited about how this came together, so grab a cup of your best hangover remedy, kick that now lesser attractive girl out of your bed, and go ride your bike. Happy 2013 Everyone!
