I love good connections

My home connection is terrible, so I'm using this brief respite in Wales to post up some cool stuff.

Albert Mercado is one of my favourite riders to watch. Awesome style, creative, just great to see. This was up on Dig:



Mutiny have posted up two cool vids - one of Mat Roe getting rad, and the other of George Boyd doing a cool rail trick, then a not-so-cool knee destroying trick.





I quite like Stranger's site, and they've also got an interesting 'sponsor me' thing on the go. Bit different to the norm...



I haven't really been interested in the 'industry' side of things much at all lately, but Rob-O has an interview up on ESPN which is quite informative.

I now have to drive 3 hours home. Bye...

Yeah, so it seems every time I say "Will update more", I leave it about a month? Unintentional unfortunately, but the real world got massively in the way for a fair time. Anyways, Pete Greaves and a trip to Newcastle made me realise what I was missing, and here's a video of Pete pointing out how he does things up there. So good. (That video was from Streetphire, but I've already linked to them once in the past paragraph so I'm not going to do it again. Sorry...)



Another awesome video, this one that I saw over on TheComeUp, was this beast. Pretty burly stuff, always good to see.

The ironic link between the two of those videos is Pete's call to vote, and the Conservative ad I just saw on the TheComeUp too. Comedy.

Something new that is also good is the Animal Cuts DVD that is really, really good. Go to the premiere, check it out, buy a copy, be amazed. An hour of bangers, and a bunch of people falling over on ice. Treats.

I've got eat some paella, edit my friend's video and get the hell ouuuutta here so that'll be all for now. I'd make some bold claim about frequency of updates, but... well... I've said all I need to say about that.

Animal Cuts DVD Premiere

We will be hosting the premiere of the Animal Cuts DVD at the Orange Rooms in Southampton. So head down to watch some stunts and down some beers. We'll have copies to sell on the night too, so just find Carlos on the night and give him 1,299 pennies.

Fit S4 Frame

Just got more details about the Fit S4 frame. Had a few people ask about it already in the shop, and there is not much info out there at the moment, so I thought I'd do a blog post since I haven't blogged anything in such a long time!

The next incarnation of the Mike Aitken frame will be arriving in the shop in about 10 days time. Retail price is £399.99.




"Mike wanted the S4 to be as simple and classic looking as possible while using every new development in materials and workmanship available to improve on the S3.5. We’ve been working on new material for a Down Tube for the last six months so once that was finished and tested we were ready to go. The end result is a clean, classic frame that’s strong and still less than 5 pounds. Here are a few of the changes from the S3.5."

• Top Tube (butted and tapered, stronger overall and cleaner looking at seat-tube junction)
• Down Tube (classic round tube look, new proprietary material is stronger and more dent resistant)
• Down Tube Gusset (new shape and material is stronger)
• Head Tube (completely new design inside and out, stronger, lighter, and cleaner looking)
• Bottom Bracket (new shape and internal machining with same ribbed vent holes as Head Tube)
• Bottom bracket height 11.625" (lower than S3.5)
• Stand over height 8.5" (taller than S3.5)
• Seat tube (tapered)

Animal have some shiny new cloth... - wait, "cut and sew" items out. Pretty sweet. First time I've ever seen a wallet I've liked?

DSLRs are 'in' these days, especially for filming duties. My boss just bagged himself a 7D and they are nice to see, although pretty much every video I've seen people use them on recently has sort of felt detached from it all. I kinda miss the low-fi, up close look of older videos, maybe... Anyway, from Stoke with love:



Ride have a pretty cool overspill piece up on Tenerife. Randomly, I was checking a customer's address in Tenerife earlier today, and hit up the Street view feature on Google. I was remarking then on how many spots there were on the street our customer lived on, turns out there's plenty more around there. Drop out "The new Barca?" line, perhaps?

Tunney posted up a pretty awesome video of Mat Hoffman from way back when - interestingly, from the first BMX VHS I ever bought. Worth your time, go to Props TV to check it out.

Here's the last two sections of For Those About To Peg, just to complete the series. Generally mixed reviews online, but that's pretty irrelevant. It's nice to have a video to look back on to remind you of good times you've had - I'd imagine it's not quite the same just having sour anonymous comments on a website to look back on. Who knows?
